Dick Morris: "Half of Fox's audience are Liberals"
Edited on Tue Oct-20-09 03:00 AM by sabrina 1
I do not watch Fox as it gives me a serious head-ache when I listen to what they insist is news.

But tonight I was unfortunate enough to see, (it was not my fault, I was visiting friends) part of a rant by Hannity about the White House's recent 'attacks' on Fox.

Hannity in his infinite wisdom, has figured it out. 'The White House is afraid of Fox' he said. And the reason they're afraid is because Fox tells the truth and they are afraid of the truth!

Hannity's guest tonight was adulterous, prostitute toe-sucker Dick Morris who was introduced as a former member of the Clinton Administration. See, they ARE 'fair and balanced'.

Dick informed us that the White House should realize that 'half of Fox's audience is made up of Liberals and Independents'.

If you are wondering how much credibility should be given to anything Dick Morris has to say (does anyone know why Clinton had this guy in his administration btw?) this might give you a clue:

Worst Pundit In America: Dick Morris (In A Landslide)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mark-nickolas/worst-pundit-in-america-d_b_160212.html

One of Dick Morris' many predictions of how the 2008 election would turn out. More at the link:

Oct 21: The Populism Divide: "Then came Obama’s conversation with Joe the Plumber, possibly the decisive moment in the election."

Lol, I think it probably was at least one of the most decisive moments in the election, but not the way he thought it was.

Anyhow, I have no way of knowing if this is true or not. I know some Democrats who suffer through it just to see what they're up to so it's possible.

So, I was thinking, supposing that half of Fox's audience just turned it off, or better yet, blocked it altogether? Or called their cable companies to ask if they can cancel it? Until they admit that what the White House said is true ~

I hate to think that Liberals are responsible for the 'huge numbers' they are claiming.

I couldn't watch anymore so I left to go outside and get some air. I find it hard to believe that anyone with even a few functioning brain cells deliberately tune in and listen to these morons every day.

I assumed most Democrats felt the same way, but apparently not, according to Dick.

Edited to add: Boycott Fox News

1. I used to watch them to see what they were saying now and again
but really can't stomach them unless it's weather coverage I can't get on CNNI or BBC. And I watch MSNBC online.

5. Me too.
Watched O'Really when he still made some sense, about 7 years ago No more.

I don't buy the 50% Liberal watching claim...but then they aren't saying half of their viewers are laughing their asses off...so who knows?

15. If half their audience is 'liberal', it is for surveillance reasons...
and not because they enjoy it...i.e. Media Matters.(who listens and watches all the shit so we do not have too.)

19. Same here. Now I only tune in when there is an obvious GOP fail/
(or Dem win) to see how they will spin it. And even then I can only stomach it for a few minutes. I know a lot of people (like my parents) get kicks out of listening to limbaugh and Fox News but I'm not one of those people.

and I'd have to go buy a gun to do it. But I would.

I do not understand why anybody watches that crap, let alone a liberal or independent.

6. Yes, I think he's only on Fox these days
But he writes for a lot of rightwing publications and I guess someone pays him for doing so. One thing you have to say about Republicans, they reward their foot soldiers, no matter how hard they fall. Unlike Democrats who abandon theirs as fast they can once the wingnuts go after them.

7. This is a very tedious line Fox peddles.
More useful than party registration or self-affixed ideological label, is voting history. A 2004 Mark Mellman poll indicated that Fox viewers went 88% for Bush, 7% for Kerry. (I'm too lazy to hunt it up; you can find it your own damn self if you care.)

23. Here's a post on those statistics:
http://www.mydd.com/story/2007/3/21/05816/7785

Fox News Audience: Stunningly Republican by 88-7

Instead of providing "fair and balanced" reporting, Fox has created an audience ignorant of the facts, but fully supportive of management's ideology.

An audience that decides for itself, based on "fair and balanced" coverage, ought not to reach monolithic conclusions. Yet, in our 2004 polling with Media Vote, using Nielsen diaries, we found that Fox News viewers supported George Bush over John Kerry by 88 percent to 7 percent. No demographic segment, other than Republicans, was as united in supporting Bush. Conservatives, white evangelical Christians, gun owners, and supporters of the Iraq war all gave Bush fewer votes than did regular Fox News viewers.

18. Faux Definition of A Librul:
Anyone to the left of Atilla the Hun. These asshats think Lindsay Graham is a "librul" these days. As usual, it's all in the framing.

I find it amusing to see how faux is fighting the charges of their bias and distortion by doing more of the same to prove the point.

27. I noticed that also, how many places of business, like hospital
waiting rooms, have their TVs tuned to Fox. Someone above mentioned it also. So, they get a captive audience and count those in their numbers also.

Actually they have a relatively small audience, but as someone said once, their reach is further than their audience. And that is because when they say outrageous things, people repeat them, on blogs and in other media.

Or was that half a minute?

Half of something, anyway. That proves it right there.

30. Lol, that's what happened to me and how I came to see
Dick Morris. But it was torture. My friends who had it on, ARE liberals too, but they are older and I think they are just used to it or something. Both voted for Obama so it's not like they're being influenced. But why torture yourself? Out of respect for them, I didn't say anything, but it was hard.

35. True, we were so busy defending him from the wingnuts
I didn't really notice who was working for him. It was 'them' V 'us'. Still that way long into Bush's first term. The wingnuts were obsessed with Clinton and I felt obliged to defend him.

Btw, Dick wrote a book last year and he's still obsessed with the Clintons. Someone asked him why and he said it's the way Clinton changed and now he 'hangs out with Dubai prince who was indicted for kidnapping boys to use as camel jockeys. Who knew Dick was a moral guy? :rolf:

34. I can't either. What possessed him?
And it was Dick who advised to deny the whole affair. He's not even smart, has rarely been right about anything, and yet, Clinton who was supposed to be so smart, asked HIM for advice?
