Healthcare reform has reflected very poorly on the Senate overall

They seem to be out of touch, incapable of relating to or understanding the concerns of average Americans, entrenched, paid off, irredeemably corrupted,. . . you get the idea.

The Congress on the other hand has shown some real attitude, gumption, combativeness, concern, knowledge, etc.

Pelosi has been more effective than Reid.

And I must give a heartfelt thanks to the Congressional Progressive Caucus for digging in their heels on behalf of the American people.

Senate - you have a long way to go and you have been MAJOR disappointments. It's NOT all about your little club. Get a grip and do the right thing or be voted out.

1. I echo your sentiments ....
Even during the Bush years when there was not much that they could do, the Democratic senators gave the appearance of inaction. I was so disgusted with them that I could hardly stand it, and that has not really changed. Reid seems to be useless. I would like to see him lose his seat when the time comes to a strong progressive Democrat who isn't afraid of his own shadow.

Pelosi started out a bit on the noncommittal side, but I think she must have listened to her constituents and the Democratic base as a whole and tightened up. At least I hope she has.

I saw the headline concerning making Medicare the Public Option when I logged on, and I would be very happy if they actually did it. When my husband was in the hospital last year and I discussed what a shambles the health care system was with the nurses, many of them suggested using medicare as a template to lay universal coverage over and base the premiums on the ability to pay. I have medicare and I have never had a problem with it.

In the meantime I would like to join you in thanking the House and telling the Senate that they have a long way to go before I will ever respect them again.

2. The Senate is a failed institution
They serve no-one but themselves. Good post.
