I wonder if FOX is paying attention...British Protesters break into BBC headquarter
Anti-fascist protesters broke into the BBC's west London headquarters on Thursday ahead of a white-supremacist party leader's appearance on a leading political debate show. Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the BBC Television Center in an increasingly rowdy rally against British National Party chief Nick Griffin, who is due to appear on the broadcaster's "Question Time" program.

1. This needs to happen here.
Wish we health care activists had thought to do this say back in early June.

To take over the discussion regarding real true health care reform --

SINGLE PAYER UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE FOR ALL!

This is something that a young and inspiring candidate for the Illinois Senate was saying, circa 2004, that he believed in.

Then POOF once in the Senate, he was immediately captured by aliens and DISAPPEARED!

3. He probably still does
but the reality is that there are not the votes in the Senate or the House to get single payer at this time.

5. I'd be surprised.
Americans, even those who identify as liberal, tend to worship property rights above all else.

2. Europeans and others know how to confront the destructive elements in their society.
It is only we Americans who do not have the courage to take them on.

In a better country, Fuck News would not be able to air one more show without armed guards protecting their propagandists. And even then...

4. I completely disagree
as much as I hate Fox the people on it have first amendment rights. if we suppress dissension and opposing opinion via either government action or violence by people that would make us worse than them.

9. when you set out to destroy fascism by resorting to fascism, you don't really destroy fascism
Both sides need to have a healthier respect for the constitution in its entirety, not just for the parts they like and not just when it suits their agenda. Free speech is free speech. I don't care who you are or what you are or what you say, freedom of speech is the highest law of this land.

11. Uh you need to look at what happened when the liberal and progressive
Element in the Phillipines sought to oust Marcos.

They captured the Radio and TV stations first.

Doing this has nothing to do with Fascism, it has to do with the fact that sometimes force is the only way to get something back.

If hoodlums kidnapped your child, and the only way that you could get the youngster back was to overpower them physically, would you back away and say, "Nope. Not gonna do it. I am not a fascist." ??

12. Justify it however you want. Me, I hate fascists regardless of the party they claim to be a part of
Free speech is the highest law of the land. Ignore this at your own peril.

The PRess? Was it available at CBS just five years ago, when Dan Rather was forced into early retirement and Mary Mapes was fired, for their story on Sixty Minutes Two about George W the AWOL Texas Air Guardsman?

Maybe it is on some channel I have not yet discovered, and perhaps the full explanation that the real reason why we cannot have Universal Single Payer Health Care for All - as all we need to do to make that possible and affordable is to quit the endless wars, and to force the health industry to stop inflating its prices from 2,000 percent to 82,000 percent (Not typos.)

But if you have found a channel that is laying all of this out for the American people, and it is not some obscure channel like Channel eight here in Lake County, but NBC, ABC or CBS, pls let me know. I'd like to thank the channel owners.

BTW, for your reference - we do not live in a democracy. A nation ruled by One Big Money Party can only be called either:

1) a fascist state or
2) an oligarchy

13. Oh, my gosh!
A breath of sanity! Go after suppressing Fox and you set major president against free speech. We should have voice, loud and clear. W3 should be able to be clearly against speech we don't like without suppressing that speech.

10. Yes the appropriate response to hearing something you don't like
is violence and destruction of property. :eyes:

I'd rather err on the side of too much freedom thank you.

The appropriate response to this kind of speech is to let the people embarrass themselves publicly, then rip them to shreds in your rebuttal.

You don't end hatred with censorship and violence, you just give them ammo (we have a message that "they" don't won't let you hear!). You end it by turning people against them. Which you do by exposing their idiocy to ridicule and condemnation.

For instance, the westboro baptist church does more to harm their own cause every time they open their mouths on public television than any amount of counterargument or censorship could ever do.

15. It does get concerning around here sometimes
there's a very frightening undercurrent of fascism that some people seem to express.

They're all for freedoms and all, except when someone they don't like is utilizing those freedoms, in that case we should oppress and attack them. Scary.
