Sorry about the glitches.
We have had a huge spike in traffic during the last two days. Elad is doing what he can to hold things together with duct tape and chewing gum.

And if it wasn't apparent before, it is now obvious that it's time for another server upgrade. We have already contacted our web hosting company to discuss getting more hardware. Unfortunately, hardware upgrades take time, so we won't have it in place any time soon. But hopefully we'll have it in place before the next crisis, whatever it may be.

thinking we'd finally seen the last of our old friends...the computer using Win98 or 2000 that had been tweaked by loving hands to still manage to get basic DU.

I was one of those...and wouldn't have given up my "Dial Up" and trusty old Compaq running EEEK! Win ME unless it had DIED and couldn't be recovered....

Even with my new Computer and XP and DSL..I was thinking that I bought a crap machine and my DSL must be a POS...because of all the troubles I've had last few days.

But, still thought it might be the "Change Over" and "Traffic." (still there's that niggling doubt that's it's ALL MY and MY EQUIPMENT's FAULT) :D

Her website seems to be incompatible with my browser... but I can always get it with Firefox!

I couldn't log on to DU at all today. I tried for an hour.
I took an alternate route though and that worked.
I can't post any replies and I just got two error messages.

VERY slooooooooow! Wouldn't load at all. White pages.

Could not get in again tonight (last night) until late. Really late.

I'm in now but it's 'hanging' up....stalling and seems to load and sometimes not at all.

I've had to go to the Home page numerous times and then try to 'sneak' into the discussion area.

It just did it now when I tried to read a post, after clicking, on one post.

Server is having some serious stress!!! (But Skinner already said that.)

Just wanted to let you know that it's not functioning in tiptop shape.

64. The Cox cable modem quit & I ended up not being able to go online at all.Talk about DU withdrawal!
Ack!

Fortunately the cable guy came over and fixed the problem -- but it has been difficult these past few days becaue DU itself has been so hard to access.

My computer still gives me that same error message instead of getting me to the new homepage.

I appreciate your update and all the hard work you folks do for DU. :hi:
