As debate over the war in Iraq reaches a fever pitch, The Case for War: In Defense of Freedom
follows one of the advocates for the war. Former assistant secretary of defense Richard Perle
(shown) travels the globe articulating, defending, and debating the neoconservative case for
an assertive US foreign policy. Perle finds no shortage of people willing to challenge him on
the issue, including the wife of a soldier serving in Iraq and Richard Holbrooke, former US
ambassador to the United Nations.

I was watching with a "ferner", you know, someone from El Salvador where Regan, Perle, Wolfowitz, Cheney, et al propped up the dictator, funded both sides of the conflict and caused untold deaths. I turned it off halfway through so he would be able to sleep tonight.

If there is a hell, I hope it's got a program customized for those MFs.

I have a friend who works for a production company which develops programming for the history channel. I filled him in on PNAC and suggested it would make for a fascinating and informative documentary and he'd be doing a great public service. He became agitated and told me not even to send him a link to the information. He said he didn't doubt what I was telling him, but his instinct told him it would never fly with the "suits."

PBS was looking for people to help create films for this series.

Maybe he could make an independent film but it doesn't sound like he's interested.

His unit lost 4 K.I.A. on Easter.

My anger @ this stupid waste of life & money is boundless. Perle needs

No where does it say "series" or that this is Part X (unless they click the link).

Maybe you hadn't noticed, but people here don't usually read all the posts and replys in a thread, just the Opening message post, the Headline and the replys to them. Some never even click the link unless you stress to them that it contains important info.

First you made up your own headline that made it sound like this is just one show that PBS gave to Richard Pearl to give him another chance to push his deceptive version of events calling it

But, instead of clarifying your prejudicial headline, you then posted ONLY the title of the that ONE, 1 hour Show, NOT the title of the series and NEVER noting that this IS A SERIES of programs, shown over several nights and that this one, 1 hour show is just a small part of that series. You posted ONLY the description of the Richard Pearl show to add to your deceptive post.

WHY? Because I LOVE PBS and the Documentaries they show and I don't like seeing posts here that are deliberately deceptive and inflammatory toward PBS and the shows they produce. Posts that seem to have the goal of igniting anger and outrage toward Public Television.

Edited to add: I'm getting the very strong sense that Richard Perle is completely fucking delusional. He's still claiming that all the intelligence available at the time made it clear that Saddam Hussein had WMDs and that Hussein was funding al Qaeda training and that the training was taking place in Iraq. He also still thinks going into Iraq was the right thing to do and that we can't leave until the job is done.

And now he's casting asparagus on "Hollywood celebrities and rockstars" and says "there are undoubtedly people who want the U.S. to fail in Iraq."

Oops, hang on: "President Bush inspires passionate dislike in a significant number of people." FINALLY, he says something that's true!
