Christina McIntyre Watched and Did Nothing as Her Son Smothered Her Baby
Edited on Sat Oct-24-09 04:23 AM by Are_grits_groceries
On October 6, Christina McIntyre sat and watched as her 2-year-old son Micah piled blankets and a bean bag chair onto his 11-month-old baby brother, Elijah, then climbed on top and began jumping until the baby stopped breathing. The 23-year-old Titusville, Florida mom waited a minute to pull the infant off, then spanked him and sent him to his room.
<snip>
The baby had four doctor's appointments and been hospitalized three times since September 21. On Oct. 15, the Florida Department of Children and Families claimed that reported Mcintyre to police, claiming that during tests for apnea at several hospitals in Central Florida, doctors found that the boy was fine and that his mother was the cause of breathing problems.

"doctors found that the boy was fine and that his mother was the cause of breathing problems"

Why was those kids still with her??

I hope the 2 year old won't remember any of this?

I am beyond speechless.

1. I am baffled as to how the doctors could say that
Yet let the baby go home with the mother.

The article is rather confusing in the way it is written, so maybe I am getting the wrong impression.

2. I bet she's a liar.
She sounds like the kind of person who would make up that story about the 2 year old doing that. That would take her off the hook, in her mind. She probably smothered the baby herself. How can you interrogate a 2 year old? I hope someone catches on and makes sure that little boy isn't brought up with this lie, that he did it to his baby brother.

I don't believe in the death penalty. Death is too good for someone like this. People who kill babies need to be locked away forever. I wish I believed in the death penalty, but I don't, even for this kind of murder. Just lock her away and let her live a long, long time.

I hope that little boy will be taken care of by people who can love him the way he deserves to be loved. The way all kids should be loved.

These stories are so sad, and they keep happening.

4. That could be true.
I hope she confesses if she did it. That would be a horrible event to be faced with as he grows older.

3. The children are not still with her.
From the article:

McIntyre was arrested Thursday and is being held without bond for attempted felony murder, aggravated child abuse, child abuse and child neglect causing great bodily harm. And she's now without her kids. They're in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.

5. I wonder why they were with her at all.
If the doctors knew she was the source of the kid's breathing problems, why were they still with her.

6. Doctor is legally mandated to report her
. . . so yeah, it makes no sense if he even let her leave there with her kids once he realized something was wrong.

FL seems to attract a lot of bottom feeders. This week, we've got an 18-month-old raped. . . by her mother and boyfriend . Routinely. The guy appears to be at least twice as old as the woman and was dumb enough to get on TV and admit to crap (though he tried to claim he wasn't the instigator). This kind of shit makes a strong argument for having to pass a test before you're allowed to breed.

Bleagh. It's way to early for such a case of the willies. WTF is wrong with people?

what a sicko.. making her toddler kill his baby brother..

Here's hoping that toddler gets adopted, and is never told he had a baby brother... Imagine finding out as an adolescent that you killed you brother::cry:
