The RW mentality at it's worst.
I saw this at another message board:

DP>> Could not agree more. People wage war against women and children do
DP>> not have rights (or should not). Well, except for the right to a
DP>> speedy military trial followed immediately thereafter by some time
DP>> out in the warm sun in front of a firing squad.

DP>> And we should lobby so that they can have that right.

JB> Another alternative is that the military will not take prisoners.

That would be even better. There is another advantage to that as well.
If the enemy learns that we take no prisoners, no matter how rabid they
are and how fanatical, that thought is always in the back of their mind.
That is going to cause at least some of them to hesitate or think twice
before going up against us.

(End of message)

Isn't the US supposed to be better than this?
And to top it off, these people above make it a point to say how "Christian" they are.

1. i believe most americans believe as you (and i) do
however it is a very vocal minority who are intellicutually lazy (most rw radio listeners actually) who are the ones we hear.

2. The disadvantage to not taking prisoners
Is that our adversary doesn't feel the need to take prisoners, either. These are people who have never been in a combat situation, who have never heard a shot fired in anger, or who have never been sighted through a scope. They're tough-talking armchair warriors heavily invested in the High Church of Redemptive Violence who would simultaneous shit and piss themselves at the first sign of some of that violence being visited on their pointy little heads.

Christians? Hah! Their faith is in other people brandishing the tools of war and ignorance, not the Prince of Peace.
