2. My daughter will be going to college next year (god willing if financial aid comes through) and
that has me slightly freaked out--what about when she's sick so far away from home? Hope your son gets well soon. Is it H1N1?

7. You learn that it always happens around midterms and finals.
And when you show up dog sick to take your exam, you learn to be one with the sick herd that shows up with you. It's a rite of passage.

8. he has all the symtoms
...his roommate just got the vaccination a couple of days ago. I was just listening to Vermont Public Radio and they were talking about the clinic set up on campus... Don't worry about your daughter, most campuses have good health clinics as long as the student takes advantage of them. No matter, all moms worry...

3. So sorry! Can you have a restaurant deliver him some chicken soup?
I think that's what I'd do. Is there anyone ther who can check in on him, get him to the doctor?

18. When I went to college my first semester I got what was probably chicken pox. Too weak
to get out of bed for almost a week. Having chicken soup would have a great help and not coddling.

when my husband was dying... he wanted a real New York pastrami sandwich. He was at Mary Hitchcock Dartmouth in NH. I called his buddies in Queens and they sent a sandwich packed in ice -express- to the hospital :-) He couldn't eat it but the act was awesome.

Mine is approx. 2 hours away and when a tornado ripped through Murfreesboro last spring, I was beside myself for a while. It's tough to hear them on the phone when sick sounding miserable and coughing. Mine has sounded rough for 3 weeks and that counts when he was here last weekend.
