Interesting fact about White Alabamans and the last two elections...

Twice as many Whites voted for Kerry as voted for Obama. Isn't this a bit odd given the national trends?

Chimpy: 80%
Kerry: 19%

vs.

McCain: 88%
Obama: 10%

Ha: This result has nothing to do with racism and merely reflects the fact that there were still right-wing Dixiecrats voting against the GOP in 2004.

Ha: The exit poll is not accurate in this case.

Either the exit poll was wrong or it is reflective of racism.

I don't think the Dixiecrat explanation is plausible, as 2004 is too recent.

African-Americans trended away from the GOP nationally; given as how there is no evidence that Southern African-Americans are any more or less racist than their northern compatriots, whereas a White who votes for Bernie Sanders or Alan Grayson is almost certainly far less racist than a Roy Moore supporter, there is no reason to assume that African-Americans in Alabama would buck national trends.
