Snowe pessimistic about trigger option ... link
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/10/snowe-pessimistic-on-triggers.php

This is interesting- I thought the White House was pushing the trigger option thinking that was the one that had the votes. They obviously were aware of Lieberman's intentions to fillibuster. But if the trigger option is out, that seems to leave us with 3 choices - 1. Get Lieberman or Snowe to back down and not fillibuster the public option. 2. Go with something like Baucus' plan. 3. Reconciliation.

Should be interesting political maneuvering at work.

1. if the right wants no reform

you hear it everyday on the street;we can't afford healthcare ins. anymore! we can't afford our meds. we can't afford to go to the drs.
here's what many are saying;if it keeps up i'll do like the others and go to the emergency room-just drop the ins. because its breaking us!
then the wealthy can pick up the tab for all!

2. Reconciliation
the blue dogs don't want health reform, the repukes make no bones about it, they hate it.

So why all the drama?

51 votes sounds just right to me.

it's a win win situation publicity speaking for the repukes.

if it fails, the repukes dance and party like it's 1999. if it passes, they go on the media circuit and wring their hands about how the world has ended. They will work this to with in an inch of its life to win back seats in the midterms.

So fuck it, Reconciliation is the ticket.
