This should give you an idea as to why McCain moved to block net neutrality

A few days ago John McCain introduced a bill to kill net neutrality measures proposed by the FCC.

After reading this article, I have no doubts as to why:

OPENSECRETS.ORG (10-28-09): "No current member of Congress has received more money from AT&T, Verizon, telephone utility companies or telecom services and equipment companies than McCain. Together, AT&T and Verizon have contributed $733,450 to the senator (including for his 2008 presidential campaign) since 1989, while the industries have given him a combined $1.9 million in that time."

Although tech - ignorant I guess he's not color-blind. At least not in the GREEN - red spectrum.

3. Of course. They are paying him to make sure they can exploit
the internet for massive profit. They bribe him a few million, and they stand to make billions in profits in return.

They want legislative permission to force people to pay more for access to the internet by forcing people to buy partial access to the internet, and then pay more, and more for each slightly larger incremental bit of access.

Can it is not only money that it at stake here. If they can partition the internet and force us to buy access in bits and pieces then they can control what we are allowed to access. They can reshape the entire internet as a corporate wonderland. Pay each time you change to a new page, and never see anything they decide you shouldn't see because all that community stuff, rabble-rousing stuff, liberal stuff, self-made stuff will all get shoved into a graveyard tier nobody will be able to buy.

"Oh, you want direct access to other people's self-made websites and discussion boards? That is all in the consumer-content tier. To buy that you must have our premium package with the full-access add-on, and that gives you access to consumer content in your local region. If you want access to consumer pages in other regions that will be additional monthly charges per region."

Having access to the entire internet would cost a fortune per month.

6. They don't even remotely try to cover it up anymore.
Does he think that we can't see the blatant corruption (thanks to the internets)?

Based on the way our elected representatives have ignored the needs and polled wishes of their constituents, I think they no longer care if we can see the corruption.

They seem to think there's nothing we can do about it.

They may be right.
