I posted yesterday lamenting the many instances in the past 8 years of failures to prosecute crimes
committed by the "High and Mighty". I concluded by asking "When does this stop, people? When do we again become a "nation of laws"? When can we again say that "no one is above the law" without laughing, crying or puking?"

Today, I learned that Hank Paulson, Bush's Secretary of the Treasury, ("Mr. TARP") met with and gave inside information to his former Goldman-Sachs colleagues when in Moscow last year. This clearly violated the terms of the "ethics letter" he signed before taking the Treasury gig. SEE: http://www.citizensforethics.org/node/43076

Should he be investigated and very likely prosecuted? Of course---but, I don't think I'll stand on one leg and hold my breath while I wait for that to happen.

1. I agree atticus
no one should be above the law.I just keep hoping that good can win over evil in at least most of these scenarios. We may have a chance of prosecutions for things like this while Obamas in charge. In my opinion, he is trying to put our country back together but it is not happening as fast as I would like.

2. If there's probable cause to believe Paulson committed a crime, then I agree.
Under those circumstances he should be investigated and prosecuted.

3. LAST WEEK I HAD TO GO FOR JURY DUTY...
there were approx 400 of us taken into a room to watch a movie about being a juror, and the last words in the movie were about rule of law..

I yelled out ..when do we hold those in our government to the same standards of rule of law..

and i got a room full of claps..and cheers!

and i was dead serious and so were those that applauded..the person who was in charge asked me not to speak out like that again..and i said..why????????I said we hold ourselves accountable and in each court room there we hold people accountable ..but no one running our government is held to the same standard..

I said i no longer believe in rule of law, since no one in our government does either! and that that was obvious by those walking free who have broken to most precious laws i always believed in..again , i got applause.

I was the second person called to go to a court room as prospective juror..i was not chosen.
But i got really mad when i sat there watching that film about rule of law and my civic duty...

where is the civic duty of our so called leaders???????

I have in the past served as a juror 5 times and then once as an alternate..I no longer feel any law is followed by my government so I no longer feel i must have a civic duty if our leaders do not feel they have that obligation as well.

I want my constitution back, the way my forefathers meant them to be, not as they have been changed at will, by the assholes that call themselves my employees in my government!

I demand it and i want my laws back the way they were intended to be and have been circumvented by the assholes that now sit in the highest offices of my government!

It is my government.

I want it back and i want those that broke our laws held accountable..and i am damn sick of the excuses!
