He's outraged, I tell you.

He thinks it is OUTRAGEOUS that AIG and other companies are being forced to cut executive compensation, even though those funds would come from the federal government.

The companies received bailouts from the United States treasury.

He thinks it's intolerable that the very companies that were saved by the corporate welfare are being told to trim upfront compensation for their executives, even though the same executives stand to make out even more grandly, should they turn their companies around, so that their company stocks rise.

I'm watching this hearing on C-SPAN, and frankly, it's making me ill.

He's against making them earn their money, by making their companies more valuable. He just wants to shovel federal money into their banks accounts.

This is the same Dan Burton that bragged in the nineties that he did target practice on melons representing the President of the United States. You know, Bill Clinton, that murdered youths on Arkansas railroad tracks. :eyes:

This is the same congressman that consistently opposes increases of the minimum wage for American workers. Yet he opposes making multi-millionaire executives earn their money.

Is this why I am cynical?

3. Yep...Can't Shakedown People Who Don't Have Money
Ya know...2 million just doesn't go as far as it used to :nopity:

Seems like the great unhinged...once known as the rushpublican party needs a daily poutrage...something that throws red meat to their "base" while sucking up to the corporates to grab some quick campaign cash.

The crap that spews from Burton and anyone with an (R) after their name is pure fantasy as the corporate media is happy to give them time to do their crying jag and helps spread the persecution complex that's now the rage among the great unhinged.

6. No brainer
If all these fucking exec's want to keep their unearned bonus entitlements, they should simply REFUSE THE BAIL OUT MONEY, and use the revenue they make w/o the bail out to fund their bonuses.

Hey, Fat Cats, if you want our money for your corporate welfare, you accept it on our terms, not yours!

Greedy fuckers!

9. 500 to 1 ratio of CEO pay to workers pay and it's still increasing
Why doesn't the government just lock the ratio to 100 to 1? Then these executives can make all the money they want
as long the the workers make money.
