What happened?

Oh yeah, greed and insurance industry $$$, that's what.

Here's the wiki link to the Israeli universal health care system, the one that US taxpayers subsidize:

I think we're all familiar with Lieberman's support for Israeli aid.

From RawStory:

Flip-flop: Lieberman promised ‘universal health care’ in 2006

...At his DailyKos blog, Jed Lewison posted a video of Lieberman promising health care reform during his 2006 Senate run.

"What I’m saying to the people of Connecticut, I can do more for you and your families to get something done to make health care affordable, to get universal health insurance," Lieberman said during a July, 2006, debate.

During that campaign, Lieberman advocated "small business health insurance reform, plus something I call MediKids to cover all the children in America on a sliding fee basis up until the age of 25."

Lieberman also pushed for a plan he called "MediChoice," which would "allow anybody in our country to buy into a national insurance pool like the health insurance pool that we federal employees and Members of Congress have."...

"A national insurance pool", now where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, the public option, that's where.

Lieberman. Is there a bigger louse in Congress? What a Judas. Here's hoping CT gives Joe what's coming to him.

1. It's easy to support theoretical reform - but when it's actually happening - not so much. nt

8. You mean it's easy to lie when you're trying to stay in office
and just as easy, if you're slime like Lieberman, to change your mind once you get there.

3. He is not a traitor.
He has been loyal to the special interests that own him and his wife his entire political career.

4. And his constituents?
The ones who overwhelmingly support the public option he is threatening to kill?

5. They don't pay the bills for him.
Only useful every six years, and he then he can ignore them.

Don't forget how many Repubs voted for him. Lamont would have been senator but for their votes.

9. He owes his constituents too...
...but doesn't seem as interested in paying them back.

He owes Obama and Reid for keeping his chairmanship. Doesn't seem concerned about rewarding them either.
