7. I am so galled that Bush would show up, that I had to try to find some humor in it.
This man, who has caused the deaths and mutilation of hundreds of thousands of people, who has never attended a funeral for any of the service personnel he sent to their death, has no business talking about the horror of violence.

The man IS violence; cowardice violence.

10. HAD to be there.? What a joke.
Clinton did NOT go to the Columbine convocation. He had the decency to wait a month and to a private ceremony.

Bush went to be seen in a positive light; to give the appearance of having a conscience. His appearance was political theater.

Bush is the ghost, of a trace, of a pale imitation of a leader.

He has no business talking about violence.

Period.

9. And as if not attending soldiers' funerals isn't bad enough
Edited on Wed Apr-18-07 10:40 AM by Rob H.
according to the AP (hat tip to this entry on Needlenose), "Bush plans to give three television interviews on campus before returning to the White House, Perino said."

So he's giving a 5-minute statement at the convocation, then he's showing his repellent mug on TV to shore up his dismal approval ratings. And is it really necessary at this point to remind people that four days passed after Katrina before he visited NOLA and this happens and he's down there the very next day? Nothing is beneath this man. Nothing.
