Did anyone notice the sickening Bush love fest on NBC yesterday?
I just don't get it.

David Gregory called Bush the "Mourner in Chief" and Brian Williams said that Bush was the healer and that one of the main strengths of his presidency was his compassion. He described Bush as the caring father figure of our nation or some such crap like that.

Wasn't Brian Williams the journalist who stayed in NOLA to expose the truth about the conditions there after Katrina? Didn't he win an award for "Truth in Journalism"? How in the hell could he lie about Bush's "compassion"?

I just couldn't watch any longer. I didn't notice any of the other networks joining in the love fest, but this just tears it for me.

I am thoroughly disgusted with the network coverage of this tragedy and how it was used to "catapult the propaganda". Bush has zero credibility and no legacy, but now the corporate media is working overtime to not only make it seem like Bush has a conscience, but that he has ALWAYS had one and has ALWAYS cared about his "subjects".

If these 'news' guys want a king why don't they find someone who is not a dangerously incompetent psychopath?

2. it's hard to criticize him when he surrounds himself with tragedy
That's the only reason he goes and gives speeches. I dont blame him for going to VT, but I do blame him for not going to any of the funerals for the kids that he killed in his war.

3. Add Mutt Lauer to the list, too.
I heard ML on Tuesday a.m. say how the nation turns to Bu$h to heal.

Lapdogs being fed poisonous treats and begging for more.

4. I thought it was a very bland, fill-in-the-blanks speech, to boot

compare it to Reagan after the space shuttle disaster....it was the one time in his entire presidency that he appeared presidential.....and Bush couldn't even come that far...

8. I didn't listen to the whole thing, just bits and pieces. However,
I thought he was racing through so he could get outta there. About half of what I heard was said so fast, I couldn't make sense of it. Then, I considered the source and moved on.

6. I can't believe anyone could still use the words
"Bush" and "compassion" in the same sentence. At least not anyone who's been paying attention the last six years.

7. It's always been like that. Expect the adulation of the GOP nominee, too.
Especially if it's Giuliani.

They didn't get it because that man doesn't exist.

10. I recall Bill Clinton going to various memorial services but I don't recall him
ever being referred to in such terms. In fact, I recall Clinton being mocked for his expression of empathy. "I feel your pain." Is my memory faulty?
