20. 2X as many Americans have died in April in Iraq
compared with Virginia Tech.

And unlike Virginia Tech, the killing of Americans in Iraq is still going on.

7. This insanity has to end....
Yes we need to get out but also the Iraqis need to STOP FUCKING BLOWING EACH OTHER UP! Each mass bombing I get more and more irritated at these fucking clerics. They could stop the violence, but they won't. Why? Because they are selfish little bastards who want the power and the money.

Us simply leaving is not going to fix things. They are going to keep blowing each other up until one side or the other can claim victory and shove their own religious "laws" down the other sides throats. Who suffers the most.... women and chldren. As usual.

9. Come on can't we get back to our own tragedy here in America...
If it isn't happening here it doesn't matter. When's the next interview with Katie Couric....wait I have to get my tea first...I can Tvo......WHAT WILL OPRAH HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS TERRIBLE TRAGEDY IN VIRGINIA???? I do hope she does the entire show on those poor people who's lives are damaged forever. Wait I have to get my taxes in so we can continue to support the war criminals who are responsible for this:

More than 150 dead in Iraq blasts

A US troop "surge" has not stopped insurgent attacks

t least 157 people have been killed in a string of attacks in Iraq's capital, Baghdad, security officials say.
In the deadliest incident, some 115 people were killed in a car bombing in a food market in Sadriya district.

An attack on a police checkpoint in Sadr City and several other explosions left at least another 42 people dead.

The attacks came as Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki said Iraqi forces would assume control of the country's security by the end of the year.
--------

Makes the shooter in Virginia look like a Piker doesn't it and remember this has been going on for FIVE FUCKIN YE#ARS PEOPLE!!!

13. You know......If you can't understand why people are reacting more to the VT deaths then...
I just don't know what to tell you. Human being react to things more strongly when they have a connection, when it happens close by, or they know a victim. That is simply how life works.

We don't grieve for tsunami victims the way those who were hit do.

Tsunami victims do not mourn the Katrina losses in the same way a gulf coast resident does.

Yes we feel empathy, we know it is wrong, we want it to stop, it makes us angry. But that is different from actively mourning in the same way as a tradgedy close to home. Iraqi news covers iraq deaths more then american ones I would think.

Yes the news should be covering MORE of what is happening in Iraq if only to put more pressure on this vile administration, but don't expect them not to cover a shooting rampage on an American campus.

This is human nature.

17. All in Baghdad 120 killed in one bombing (4 total)....
...here's the BBC report:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6567329.stm

>>At least 170 people have been killed in a string of attacks in Iraq's capital, Baghdad - the worst day of violence since a US security operation began.
In the deadliest incident, some 120 people were killed in a car bombing in a food market in Sadriya district.

A witness said the area had been turned into "a swimming pool of blood".

snip...

Hospitals in Baghdad were inundated with more than 200 injured people, many of them with serious burns from the bomb at the Sadriya market.

Car and suicide bombings have occurred almost daily in Baghdad in recent months, despite a US-led security crackdown since February.

The bombers are proving that they can slip through the tightened security net and defy the clampdown, says the BBC's Jim Muir in Baghdad.<<

19. Actually, 233 total were found dead today.
Today, April 18th, 2007, 233 people were either killed or found dead in Iraq. This is the 8th day since the surge started where the Iraq death total has been over 100. According to a Yahoo News Story listing the Deadliest days in Iraq, prior to the surge, and since the Iraq war began, there had been only 8 previous days where the death total had been over 100.

The "surge" is sure working well, isn't it.
