Wild Wild West College?
Has America gone mad!

MSNBC has been talking all morning about the idea of students being allowed to carry guns on campus.

They said a poll was posted on their website and I can't find it.

My head is still spinning from the thought of it but I believe they said that 37% of those polled said they approved of students carrying guns.

Please tell me I'm having a nightmare from the 24/7 coverage of the tragedy at VT.

Nightmare time!

Students should be allowed to carry concealed licensed weapons on campus.

The massacre was an isolated incident. Banning guns on campus is still a good idea.

6. The numbers are shocking!
I don't own guns - don't like them - but I may have to get one just to protect myself from all of the crazy gun-toting wackos out there. I cannot believe that people favor allowing students to carry concealed weapons on campus. If they do allow it, school shootings are going to skyrocket, IMO.

12. I recall being in college and girls crying because their boyfriends
started dating other girls on campus.

Wild, wild West coming up!

20. Never be shocked by online polls
They can be easily freeped, or DUed, the outcome as easily manipulated as American Idol.

Even a "real" poll can be wrong. A pollster can ask me anything, but he won't hear about any guns in my house, should any exist.

Yep, give some drunken frat rats guns and ammo. Sounds like
a plan to me. I'm not saying they'd go on a rampage but I surely do believe that the accident rate would skyrocket.

Last summer, a Virginia Tech student wrote an editorial in the Roanoke Times saying he'd feel safer if students were allowed to carry guns on campus. What do you think? * 822 responses

11. Actually
That film makes a very good point about the misguided belief that guns and soldiers are for killing:

Colonel Kirby - "You're not a soldier! I'm a soldier, with the career goal of all soldiers - staying alive in situations where it ain't all that easy to do! You're a death-lover. Some sorry son of a bitch has got you convinced that dying for a cause is oh, so romantic. Well, that's the worst kind of all the kinds of bullshit there is!"

how many college students and/or faculty carry concealed guns now? Even though they're illegal on campus?

not to mention the occasional over-reaction to the odd instance of humiliation, heartbreak and sports rivalries.

Yep...sounds just like the perfect environment for young adults to be packing heat.
