Remember Evan Bayh's & his wife's ties to Wellpoint (large healthcare firm)?? Check this out
http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20091101/NEWS02/911010313/Indiana-based+insurer+analyzes+costs+of+health+care+legislation

Recent studies funded by the insurance companies concluded that premiums would rise far faster under the health bills than they would if Congress took no action.

Democrats say those studies looked only at the parts of the reform packages that would increase costs, such as provisions that would bar insurers from denying coverage based on pre-existing conditions, and ignored the parts that would reduce costs, such as proposed health insurance subsidies for people earning up to 400 percent of the poverty level.

WellPoint, which insures one in nine Americans, has put out a new report that factors in the subsidies.

Its analysis acknowledges that some people would pay lower premiums under the congressional health care proposals. But company officials still say too many people who buy insurance on their own or in the small group market -- particularly those of average age and health -- would see an increase.

Critics say Wellpoint's analysis overplays some elements, such as how many healthy people would choose not to buy insurance, while underplaying others, such as savings in administrative and other costs.

Anything to keep their stranglehold on the lives of Americans.

1. My introduction to the Bayh family.
In 1969 I was newly married. I was a Chicago native, my husband came from a small town in NE Indiana. We married while he was in the navy, so we spent our first six months of married life in Norfolk VA. I knew nothing of Indiana politics.

Sometime between June and December 1969, Parade Magazine (yes, the same Parade Magazine) ran an article about some senators. I don't know if they were new senators or presidential hopefuls or what the hell they were. But one of them was Birch Bayh, then senator from Indiana and father of the current .. . . . .one. The interviews were the usual Parade crap, and I've completely forgotten who the other senators were or what they were asked or how they answered.

I only remember one thing: Birch Bayh was most annoyed that too many people didn't know how to spell his name correctly.

I was 21 years old and I didn't know squat about politics, but I knew Birch Bayh was a self-centered moron who didn't have a clue. All he cared about was getting his name spelled right.

patooie.

2. "study" my foot. They are telling us what they are going to do.
And we aren't doing a damn thing to stop them or reign them in.
