Enough of the "Haircut" Posts!
I thought the DU community was above some of this shit - considering the intelligent discussions that occur here, I didn't think that this haircut issue would just go on and on....

Just take a look over at Freeperville and see what they are saying about it..http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1819035/posts I'm sure they are salivating in glee over some of the reactions here.

Here are a few choice comments:

I have actually found a gal that gives $8 cuts.
Mine doesn't charge. It's part of her wifely duties.

Just part of the package, when you marry a licensed cosmetologist.

1. I think
our next President should have long hair, at least below his shoulders.

2. Me too, like Polk.
Then again I also don't have a problem with beards. But other voters do.

5. I *WISH* I could afford a $400 haircut
and I don't begrudge Bill Clinton for his expensive cut--what the fuck? You want our candidates to look like the dumbfuck Republicans where all you need is a bowl and scissors?

7. I don't give a rat's ___ what gives Freepers their jollies
they've had so little to laugh at these past 6 years of horror.

I think our candidate's responsible use of donations they solicitfrom us IS as "issue" that should be discussed. This one will blow over, for sure. But I hope any controversy is instructive to the candidates that look at the blogospehere as a kind of cash cow.

I really think any message that is sent to our candidates by this incident will be constructive.

8. If I were running for office and having my photo taken as often as he is
Edited on Wed Apr-18-07 02:22 PM by gollygee
I would pay whatever I needed to make sure my hair was cut properly, and I'd only want someone who was used to cutting my hair and whom I knew would cut it properly. And it is absolutely a campaign expense for him to look "presidential" while he's running for president.

Why does this group have such a way with freeper talking points.

9. The haircut/house/BS attack du jour thrives because they have nothing else.
Issues? Haven't you heard? "Poverty isn't a winning issue", or so I've been told. Wonder what they're so afraid of that they go after his hair? Perhaps poverty is a winning issue? January 20, 2009, could be the dawn of a transformational change for America & for the world if Edwards takes the Presidential oath of office on that day!

10. Okay.... Have you seen his HOUSE?

Oy.

Candidates are media personalities. Cosmetics matter on TV. This is just not a big deal.

11. Endless threads about haircuts & houses prove that we're all vulnerable to "news"
that doesn't matter, doesn't it?

12. Alas, "gotcha politics" is here to stay.
Shows up every two years and attempts to pass itself off as serious discussion.
