Nationwide Bush-Induced Psychosis At Work
I truly believe that this country, and especially its most vulnerable, least stable citizens, are suffering from Traumatic Stress Syndrome induced by the copious amount of criminality running unchecked in DC and the government.

It's not a full moon, but a new one. The weather has been very unsettling, but the biggest factor is:

1) the Iraq Occupation continuing in spite of widespread demands to end it

2) the resulting dislocations in families, communities, and the economy

3) the widespread corruption revealed daily in government

4) the refusal by Speaker Pelosi to do anything about it--like Impeachment.

The strains run under daily life, but they've been growing for years and they run very deep.

So, what's it going to take to get some service around here?

And by the way, the Supreme Court, in establishing a Right-To-Die for women caught in a life-threatening pregnancy, is not helping the situation.

The Supremes must also be impeached. Pronto.

2. I honestly wonder how much time people really spend thinking about Iraq
I do. I work in the DC region, and the only time I ever hear it mentioned at work is in regards to increased expenses on office supplies. It is discussed casually among my friends, and everyone obviously wants us out. But it doesn't seem to be dominating anyone's thoughts.

In general, I think the opinion on the Iraq War is wide but not terribly deep. Certainly it is widespread enough to influence elections. But I don't know what public opinion does beyond that.

It's a really really strange issue.

4. I Wouldn't Say Iraq Dominates
Vietnam didn't dominate, in its time, except among the draft-eligible and the activists. But it was always there, like traffic noise, or the smell of an open sewer, the background, the smog that colored all events.

3. I've been stressed out for decades.
When you can't find a job because you're overeducated, overskilled and over experienced, you just decide to leave town. I'm gonna sell my house and move to the country.

Who do you have to pay off to get a good middle class job?
Who do you have to know? Who do you have to sleep with?

I don't know.

Oh well, my large doctorate, nicely framed under glass, makes an impressive place mat, if I should take it off the wall and put it on the table.

5. Yep. Look at What They Hire in DC for High Power Govt. Positions
Trained monkeys--put enough in a room full of typewriters, and you'll waste a lot of paper....
