Kitty Carlisle, 96, best known for her years as a panalist on the popular prime time and syndicated television quiz show, TO TELL THE TRUTH, passed away today at age 96. Miss Carlisle was also a noted singer, still making appearances at New York's Rainbow Room as late as last year. She was also the leading lady in the Marx Brothers film A NIGHT AT THE OPERA (1936). She is the widow of noted playwright Moss Hart.

1. RIP...
she lived a long life and I hope she went out peacefully. It's strange because I was just talking about her the other day with a few friends

2. George Gershwin proposed marriage to her.
I have a fabulous CD called "Gershwin Plays Gershwin: THE PIANO ROLLS" which were restored and digitized. I saw her on Larry King when it came out, and Kitty said "It's just like he is in the room here with us" when the Yamaha Synclavier (computerised piano) was playing the pieces.

She was a class act. RIP, Kitty Carlisle Hart.

6. Katharine Hepburn is probably my all-time favorite lady.
She was beautiful, cultured, and had a great sense of humor. She was an actress of the highest rank, and she had a good head on her shoulders.

All in all, a really tough act to beat.

RIP, Katharine, and thanks for all the memories.

Same to Kitty, she was a classy lady who was pretty darn smart. And a real beauty, too.

18. yep, but TO TELL THE TRUTH featured several incarnations up to the 90's
and all featured Kitty. My favorite was the 70-77 color show hosted by Garry Moore that I used to watch after school.
