Someone in Maine needs to file a lawsuit in federal court against the referendum vote.

Someone in Maine needs to file a lawsuit in federal court against the referendum vote.
The argument is the 14th. Amendment which denies a state from providing 'equal protection of laws'. This worked in the state of Maine on a twice referendum rejected granting of voting rights to the mentally ill.

1. The down side is if it hits the Supreme court there is a better then 50% chance Gays would lose

2. Won't it take years to get to the SCOTUS? By then, we could have a different court.

3. It can only go to the USSC if they cite the Federal Constitution.
If they only cite the STATE Constitution, then it can't be appealed out of the state.

At least, that's what I remember hearing when we did this in Massachusetts.
