and media savvy to have managed to live in infamy. It will take weeks to sort this very bizarre incident out. Perhaps months. It will dominate our news.

He's probably the most calculated killer in modern history...and knew "spin" his heinous crime long after his death.

It's just well.... OTT. The most calculated psychopath in modern times.

Tweety Matthews just compared him to "terrorists in the Middle East."

(you see where I'm going with this?)

Gunman contacted NBC News during massacre
Rambling communication, video being examined by FBI, network says

MSNBC
Updated: 1 minute ago

Sometime after he killed two people in a Virginia university dormitory but before he slaughtered 30 more in a classroom building Monday morning, Cho Seung-Hui sent NBC News a rambling communication and videos about his grievances, the network said Wednesday.

Cho, 23, a senior English major at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, killed 32 people in two attacks Monday before taking his own life.

Network officials turned the material over to the FBI and said they would not immediately disclose its contents beyond characterizing the material as “disturbing.” It included a written communication, photographs and video.

Brian Williams, anchor and managing editor of “NBC Nightly News,” said in a posting on the program’s “Daily Nightly” blog that the communication was received earlier Wednesday. He described it as a very long “multimedia manifesto.”
The package, timestamped in the two-hour window between Monday's shootings, was sent to NBC News head Steve Capus.Police said the development might be "a very new, critical component of this investigation.""We're in the process right now of attempting to analyze and evaluate its worth," said Col. Steve Flaherty, superintendent of Virginia State Police.

3. NBC is the one who got Cho's Video's of Deaths and Rambling Statements Mailed between killings....
so I guess Matthews is charged with making it a "terrorist attack." Very Strange.

8. I was going to say that!
but took it out of my post below because I've heard that used on a couple of wing-nut radio talk shows trying to stretch for a terrorist cell connection. But it'd be my guess that certain US government agencies *ahem* have "manchurian candidate" type operatives ready to make headlines at the push of a button, so to speak.

7. You're right about that
Cold blooded, massive and calculated.

Hmmmm......you know, this kid had to fire 50 to 60 rounds from a gun he bought just last month and do so with deadly accuracy.

16. I don't know
Imagining the dynamic involved here, a slaughter of this magnitude with a semi-auto 9mm handgun, not a large magazine assault weapon.
Multiple clips and/or reloads, amid adrenalized yet accurate shooting.

17. He was "some talented fellow" with great "aim" wasn't he... With Handgun..not Shot Gun
to have mowed down so many in a "surprise attack" with only minimal training at the place he went to "target shoot" (according to MS Corporate Media...Cho had done some Gun Training...Target Practice" after he bought his guns).

22. Point and click. How's that hard?
George Hennard killed 23 in Killeen with two handguns in one room in ten minutes. He would have killed more if the cops hadn't shown up so quickly. He was trained in their use, but still, it's not hard to shoot that accurately from three feet away.

The only two difficult aspects are becoming hard enough to do it (mental illness and the experience he gained on the first two were enough for that), and learning to change clips. After that, it's just point and click.

24. Cho (according to reports) killed kids in four classrooms & stairwell
Edited on Wed Apr-18-07 10:01 PM by KoKo01
and that's alot. Sounds more like a "trained killer" from James Bond movie than a guy who took a couple of lessons at a target shooting range. I guess with two guns anyone could pick off 29 kids who are caught by surprise...but reports are...he had resistance. So how was he so good to do that? And, he wasn't even nervous enough to miss a beat. Had two hours (where he mailed video and rants to NBC) and then went off to pick off 28 or so students?

His fellow Suitemates didn't know the guy and just accepted he was kind of quiet. :eyes: NBC gets exclusive rights to air his rants?

He was some clever, evil guy. Really. To shoot that straight in four classrooms and a stairwell? When his guns were pretty new?

28. Don't forget though...
...the people at the hospital who treated the wounded, said that not a single victim had less than 3 bullets in them. Those are the ones that lived. Now that's some really, really deadly accurate shooting, all things considered. I am not saying we can draw any conclusions, just remarking that he was a helluva good shot.

19. I thought Columbine was more calculated
They had enough bombs to blow the moon out of orbit, and even used one as a timed decoy to distract the cops. They pretty much thought of everything.

26.  Kernel Of Truth
Edited on Wed Apr-18-07 10:20 PM by Wiley50
If someone did a horrific act such as this
to protest the criminality of Smirk, Snarl and their misadministration
The act itself would still be horrible
but it wouldn't make Smirk and Snarl into Choirboys

These are quotes from the manifesto I see, so far:

``Your Mercedes wasn't enough, you brats,'' he says, apparently reading from a manifesto. ``Your golden necklaces weren't enough you snobs. Your trust funds wasn't enough. Your vodka and cognac wasn't enough. All your debaucheries weren't enough. Those weren't enough to fulfill your hedonistic needs. You had everything.''

Gotta say I agree, but not gonna kill 32 people over it

"You had a hundred billion chances and ways to have avoided today," 23-year-old Cho Seung-Hui says in a harsh monotone, in an excerpt shown on "NBC Nightly News." "But you decided to spill my blood. You forced me into a corner and gave me only one option. The decision was yours. Now you have blood on your hands that will never wash off."

This is pretty nuts, but you begin to see his tortured logic

However, if Smirk and Snarl decide to try to stay in office past 1/09, all bets are off for me
