A Perle of wisdom....
Edited on Wed Apr-18-07 05:49 PM by happydreams
NOT!

Listen to him at your own Perle...

Last night on Frontline's incredibly lame series: "America at a Crossroads" they let that weasely, war mongering and profiteering son-of-a-bitch Richard Perle try to sell his "stay the curse" take on the Iraq war. He said things like: "WE" need to pay the price.

WHO IN THE FUCK IS WE!!?

If I could have asked him one question it would be to ask how much he and his buddies made investing in the war. That bastard never "gave" anything without expecting to be paid for it.

The following was written on June 20, 2003 by Molly Ivins:

Among those continuing to make a good thing out of the Iraqi war is Richard Perle of the Pentagon's Defense Policy Board. According to the Los Angeles Times, last February Perle and the board received a classified briefing on the potential for conflict in Iraq and North Korea, including information on new communications networks. "Three weeks later, the then-chairman of the board, Richard N. Perle, offered a briefing of his own at an investment seminar on ways to profit from possible conflicts with both countries," wrote reporters Ken Silverstein and Chuck Neubauer.

It's a subject on which Perle is fully qualified. He was forced to resign as the Policy Board's chairman (though he did not resign from the board itself) in late March after it was learned he had been employed as a consultant by Global Crossing Ltd., then trying to get Pentagon clearance to sell itself to an Asian concern. Perle also serves on the board of several defense contractors and is co-founder of Trireme Partners, a venture capital firm that invests in the defense and homeland security industries.

Also according to Silverstein and Neubauer, Perle's partner at Trireme, Gerald Hillman, has been put on the Defense Advisory Board, despite having no background in national security or defense.

One has to scramble to keep up with the Gold Rush and its players. Tim Shorrock has an excellent article in the June 23 issue of The Nation detailing the state of play: Hundreds of major corporations are interested in getting a piece of this pie. Meanwhile, the invaluable Rep. Henry Waxman of California is keeping an eye on Halliburton . He is raising questions about the company's ties to countries that sponsor terrorism, specifically Iraq, Iran and Libya.....

Google Perle+seminar+profiteering.

Perle is just one of the merchants of death still making a killing in Iraq. The first CPA in Iraq, Paul Bremer's company L3 Communications has made steady profits beginning in Jan. O3 at the end of a long downtrend. I'm still working on a closer link between these two pit vipers, both chickenhawks.

1. Saw that piece of shit spin tales of honor & glory.
The bottom line is he figures the west & Israel have the upper hand on the Arabs due to overwhelming
military power so they will eventually have to obey & bow their masters, even if it takes decades.

Iraq has already proved him dead ass wrong. He's a lunatic.

4. Another one to bookmark. Great stuff in here -thanks for this!
He is a SCOUNDREL of the first order. This sounds like material for "Soundrel Time TWO." Plenty enough for maybe a couple of sequels.

BTW - gotta put in another "attaboy" for Henry "The Righteous" Waxman. I am blessed to have him as my Congressman. Like a relentless bloodhound he is.

5. one small correction
While it is a PBS/WETA production its not a frontline
special or series. Frontline has actually done great
work on the war on terror and the Bush administration.

7. A Perle of Great Price....
This is the sort of thing that would be on the front page of newspapers all the time if we still had newspapers and if we still had "reporters", who work for a living, instead of "journalists", who do gawd-knows-what. The late lamented Molly Ivins even wrote an article on it, 4 years ago, and she's "just a humorist".

William Greider wrote a book several years ago called "Who Will Tell The People?". It's a good question...
