Are we being played for suckers??
Two-hundred and fifty-eight Democrats in the Congress and we can only squeeze out 220 votes for healthcare reform? Was it really that tight of a decision or was it meant to appear as a very "tight" decision? After all, if it was that difficult to get thru a Congress with such a huge majority, then we will need to lower our expectations for any bill to get thru the Senate. It fits the puzzle, if you are a liberal. Don't expect too much...

1. I heard it was all politics. Pelosi had more votes than she needed to pass the bill,
so she cut deals with Dems in disticts that might not re-elect them if they voted for it.

I see why it was done, but it makes politics dirty.

2. In more ways than one
When I've spoken to friend or coworkers who haven't been paying as much attention to this debate I find that the majority of them want health care reform and a lot of those people have been assuming that the "public option" was a Medicare for All kind of plan. They're going to be in for a rude awakening when they realize all we got was RomneyCare and forced participation in a private plan - with no guarantee of access to care.

3. It sure feels that way
The only time they need us is on election day. The rest of the time it's piss off, bozos.
