A Song by XTC to try and mend fecnces of those whom I offended
Edited on Wed Nov-11-09 03:32 PM by maxpower
XTC the band not the drug. I lieu of the recent post about that upset a lot of people, I would like to share this song with you. On a side note, Monday was the first time I have ever been called a bigot. It was warranted and it hurt, I will make sure it never happens again. I wanted to share this song with you, please enjoy:

Knuckle Down lyrics
XTC

knuckle down, love his skin,
it doesn't matter what colour skin he's locked in
knuckle down, knuckle down and love that skin.
knuckle down, love his race,
it doesn't matter if you win or lose a little face
knuckle down and love that race.
one bright morning the world might end
with a big bang
and you'll never get yourself another chance.
put aside the hoodoo and some of the voodoo
'bout people being different
take them by the arm and run to the street,
take a little drum to supply the beat,
soon the whole world will be up on
it's feet and dancing.
for my sake won't you
put your knuckles down, boys?
for my sake won't you
put you knuckles down? knuckle down, love her skin,
it doesn't matter what colour skin she's locked in
knuckle down, knuckle down and love that skin.
knuckle down, love her race,
it doesn't matter if you win or lose a little face
knuckle down and love that race.
one bright morning you just might wake
when the coin drops,
even though you think that love is such a corny thing.
you can burst the bubble full up
with trouble says that
people always got to be fighting (not right!)
and take them by the arm and run to the fields,
blow on your horn until Jericho yields,
soon the whole world will lay down swords
and shield for singing.
for my sake won't you put
your knuckles down, boys?
for my sake won't you put your knuckles down?

Peace,
Max

2. Today is Andy Partridge's birthday
Edited on Wed Nov-11-09 03:30 PM by maxpower
Happy Birthday Andy. And, yes English Settlement changed my life when I was thirteen. Now that they no longer tour, their albums have been sonic masterpieces. This may be blasphemous but I equated them as the new Beatles, and I know every Beatle song backward and forward.

Peace,
Max

3. I was 16 and went on an exchange program to England...
spent a month with a family who lived just outside Manchester. The student that I was staying with introduced me to XTC with that album. We played it every day for that whole month. Ah, memories.

And now my kids sing "And all the world is football shaped, it's just for me to kick in space" in the car :)

Happy Birthday to Andy.

I wore out my first copy, and proceeded to go through two more. Good times
