Foreclosure.....

the guy who furtively knocks at the door/ rings the doorbell....like a MANIAC.

Ring, ring, ring. Bang, bang, bang on the door. More ringing.....

I can't pay you, although I wish I could. Stop banging at my door, unless you have a JOB to offer, but then you wouldn't be banging at my door. I'd be banging on YOUR DOOR!

2. not that i would recommend it but the click clack sound is very distinctive and gets a pucker

but the dude banging on the door might take it the wrong way and think you are threatening his life, so you lose the house and spend some time in jail :)

3. Nah, even in California you have the right to protect your domicile

from outside intruders. I know. I read the book "How to own a gun in California and stay out of jail". I'm not making this up. http://www.amazon.com/How-Own-Gun-Stay-Jail/dp/0964286432.

It basically says put your gun in a gunsafe. Put your ammo in a different gunsafe, and never open the safes, but you are still allowed to defend your domicile, even if you are living in a tent.
