hey Stupak, pick one: your amendment, or your Party funding. dickass.
If your ilk succeed in adding language impeding choice to the healthcare bill in its final form, either because you actually believe this shit, or worse because you're climbing up conservatives' assholes in order to retain your seat (pun unintentional but somehow humorous) then there's a good chance that either you will no longer receive Party funds, or alternatively that the Party's "organs" will themselves be defunded.

Wanna play the odds ? (DNC, DSCC, DCCC and all hacks who depend on them for political survival, take note as well.)

Have a great day.

We don't serve the Party, the Party serves us, or rather, our principles. When it stops doing that, its usefulness ends. Time to choose.

1. Stupak isn't worried. He has a safe seat and wins in landslides.

6. He is the 2nd Dem since 1938 to represent this district.
The other Democrat lasted all of one term. In the northern part of his district which is Upper Michigan, Bush won most of the counties in 2000 and 2004. Stupak won them all by wide margins. In the county which Obama had his largest win in last year's election, Marquette, Stupak won over 70% of the vote. He has been in office since he won in 1992 and his views on abortion are well known.

8. time for statesmen to find their patriotism, do what's right for the nation, even at loss of seat

it's happened occasionally when great questions have been called. At least one of you is a student of history, you can find the examples more readily than I can. The stakes are a little too high to pander to the ignorami, the moralizers, the reactionaries, and other branches of our domestic Taliban.

11. disagree with you totally, hes the representative of the people who elected him
they may be all nuts or may be visionaries, but do you really want to have a congress full of people who dont listen to their districts, whether you agree with them or not its better that they represent their district than represent themselves. Unfortunately it seems that the congress is full of people who represent themselves...

12. the notion of protecting against pure majoritarianism started with the Founders
and found its finest expression during the slavery debates IIRC. I need to dredge up the historical references, but it's time. I'm sure Stupak will definitely not buck his constituents, but maybe someone else in a reliably "red" district will have the gumption to.

13. totally disagree with you, its time the politicians realised that they actually work for their
district, not the lobbyists, big donations etc, im all for a representative voting the way his district wants even if i disagree with that vote, its much better than having the politicians voting the way the biggest donor wants them to vote, which is what we have now...

3. Wonder what he will do if he is under investigation....
Looks like all the "residents" of C Street are going to be investigated by the IRS. They had a lot of complaints and as people have been posting the residence lost most of it's tax free exemption.

BUT they are still being investigated. They say by being a tax free church group they don't receive money. Well all the checks written over the years from the "renters" are being checked. Remember how the republicans jumped all over Rangel about renting that apartment and not listing it etc. Well Stupak, Pitt, Ensign, etc are all now being investigated. Since they are not religious members they should not have been allowed to rent so cheaply. There was a whole bunch of stuff I don't remember. But the C Street house will probably wish Stupak had not put that amendment in the health bill because that is what made people mad and the complaints were filed with the IRS. Maybe we should file complaints about all the other so called religious nuts out there.

And just think they complain about the Taliban, al queada, the Palestine's etc being religious fanatics what the heck are they.
