A loser of a VP candidate that was disliked by her party's own Presidential nominee and disliked by at least 2/3 of the U.S. but yet here she is, on the cover of Newsweek, pushing a national book tour (albeit selling her brand-new hardback copy for as low as $4.97), appearing on Oprah, appearing on Barbara Walters.

She's freakin' everywhere!

I warned friends and family last year, and was generally dismissed, that she would keep herself relevant and would eventually put her hunting cap into the ring for 2012.

As much as we loathe her and that she represents the worst possible statement of how America's political and social mindset has devolved into the ignorant savage beast at its core, she's still out there and gaining presence.

And the "liberal" media is enabling her.

EDIT: Notice I didn't specifically say her name. I made a vow to myself this morning that I would never utter her name again. And I just came up with the perfect replacement:

The Twit.

In honor of what she represents: the dumbing down and brain-washing of the United States of Apathy.

1. Four years ago at this time
the media was chasing after everyone they thought might throw a hat in the ring. And Caribou Barbie is the only one giving them any red meat right now. It's not like they have healthcare reform or anything else to report on, you know.

2. I still believe that there are much more dangerous candidates than Palin out there on the right
My fear is that the right wing will get a smart, articulate, telegenic candidate.

3. Do remember that this is the same country
that is obsessed in turn with Brangelina, who's dancing with which has-been celebrity and Jon and Kate Plus Eight. I mean, really, the bar isn't set very high.

4. With a few exceptions, America has turned into the society Bradbury wrote about in Fahrenheit 451
My fear is that there is no turning back.

The age of the soundbite, exemplified by the Tweet (and the Twit).

6. Yep, I find many people to be insufferable
OTOH, I get to hang out with some powerfully smart policy wonks right here on DU so it isn't all bad.

5. This is why I don't think she's a joke.
She's more dangerous than stupid, and I'm not amused by her at all. She's what I would consider, 'evil'. I'll never forget how she smeared our President and the delight she took in spreading her hateful lies. She's not going away, and I don't trust my fellow Americans after they 'elected' Bush(or allowed him to take office) twice. It could happen. I knew the Republicans were going to steal the election for Bush, and they are much more worked up over Obama than they ever were over Clinton. Count on them trying, at least.

7. She's very dangerous.
Edited on Wed Nov-18-09 09:28 AM by Roland99
She's not intelligent in the slightest but thinks she is. She thinks she represents the frustrations of conservatives but all she represents is a huge step backwards for progress this country and a dangerous step forward for fake Christianity that sweeps aside centuries of science and critical thinking and replaces it with false, jingoistic nationalism.

Hmm...where has that happened before in the world?

Anyone want to take a guess?

:scared:

9. she lost the race for mccain. she is trash. she is the worst of who we are. small group
over all it is a very small group that is excited about her and she speaks to. i am not concerned about her. she will self explode, not implode cause the world will see. too many things about her thru her own narcissism allows her to continually be exposed. she cannot hide it. she cannot smooth it out. she will always out herself.

she is one i dont fear.

12. McCain lost his own race. Palin might have prevented a total wipeout.
Remember, McCain wasn't all that popular with the hard right to begin with. I saw McCain/Palin signs with McCain's name in small letters at the top and Palin's name followed but it was in large letters.

15. I agree, she is not a joke.
I've been scoffed at by a few DUers when I say that we shouldn't underestimate her appeal or how the rabid right are going to come out in droves the next few elections. If democratic turnout is low, we could easily be looking at lost majorities & a republican White House in 2012.

Her future lies in her own party. Are the repubs going to put someone that polarizing on the ticket? Yesterday I read that Lou Dobbs said he wouldn't vote for her. Still, without the zealot vote, the repubs lose. There is Huckabee, who seems much more reasonable, certainly more intelligent, but is just as dangerous.

And now our own party is courting religion. :banghead:
