Got this in an email from Buzzflash.

So how popular is Kirsten?

Truthfully, I don't think Rudy is very popular at all.

1. She's been having all the right
(and I mean good)moves since she got appointed.

I hope she beats his stupid ass.

2. She's got lousy name recognition, even though she's been...
in the job most of the year already. Dunno why so few know who she is, since she's been busy doing the right things from the day she got the job. Maybe everyone's just got so much else on their minds now. Far as I know, though, most people from either party who know who she is seem to like her.

I'm not sure Rudy would run against her, not just because he's afraid of a loss, but I can't imagine him as the freshman junior Senator in Schumer's shadow. I figgered he'd go for Governor. If the fates ordain him to be elected to anything, best it's Governor-- New York's Governor can't do all that much but stomp around and complain.

Anyway, I hope Gillibrand gets around more and people find out who she is. In a just world, she's been a good enough Senator to cruise to victory next year.

3. Rudy wants nothing to do with Andrew Cuomo
He's going to be a monster in the party in the future (in a good way) as long as he behaves himself.

4. She's not popular at all
She was an appointee, not elected to the post.

Since becoming a Senator, she has been one of the most extreme pro-Goldman Sachs legislators in all of Congress (and it's a crowded field).

I do not think she will be able to win a statewide election, unless a good number of very fortunate circumstances come into alignment just so.

works for me

oh, and she scares the lard out of the asses of Party conformists in both parties. Just the ability to do that guarantees her my vote.

11. goldman sachs but i use it and most people i think do to indicate the stronghold
the financial institutions have in our government.

i think GS has come to be the symbol of the dominance.

5. Rudy's ego is telling him he should be the president and that
a Senate race win would be the launchpad.

At what point do New York State voters declare themselves done with this talk-tough slimeball? Giuliani might have been a formidable GOP candidate in 2008 but was wiped out by his own arrogance and stupidity. His "last-stand" strategy in Florida was disastrous.

Rudy's polling likely shows him running ahead of Gillibrand, but it doesn't factor in the Cuomo-plus-any-other-Democrats vote if Cuomo is at the top of the ballot. Gillibrand might beat him anyway.
