Hopefully our President is finally beginning to see the light.

Top Republican Lawmakers Not Invited to Obama's First State Dinner

by The Washington Times, FOXNews.com

Among others, the president didn't invite his 2008 campaign rival, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, even though Obama the candidate pledged a post-partisan presidency.

While the White House is mum about who will be among the 300 or so lucky invitees to President Obama's first state dinner Tuesday night, word is already leaking out about who's not on the A-list, The Washington Times reports.

Chief among the non-attendees: top Republican lawmakers.

What's a "post-partisan presidency"?

1. Why would any be one the list?
This is not a republican administration. If pukers were there, they'd just complain about the menu.

2. Good.
People working their way through college delivering pizza need to make a living too.

11. You don't need to go there. I was just obeying Rule #5.

4. More like
"we can't take you savages anywhere!" presidency.

While I fully sympathize with not inviting the tantrum throwing, America hating right wing idiots who presently comprise the party, it might have been a stroke of genius to invite just one Republican as a token guest.

Completely outnumbered and placed at a lesser table, he would have been more motivated to behave himself and that would have gotten the point across even better than not inviting any of them.

7. Not really--but doesn't seem farfetched that he invited TurtleHead, since he
is minority leader.

9. Then a major minority committee member - such as Sen. Foreign Relations - should be invited and
probably will be.

8. That's actually a huge mistake. A state dinner is just that. BOTH parties should be invited.
Taxpayers pay for it.

12. "Post partisanship" = liberal fantasy bullshit.
It never existed bacause it never had any participation from the other side.
Maybe Obama is waking up to a little reality?

I certainly hope he is - he has a lot of potential to still do some good.

13. Waaaaaaa
The Repugs don't get their way and all they do is cry about it. There may be someone on the list that hasn't been released yet, we will see. I wouldn't invite someone who will attend and then leave the party and bitch about everything.

The Republicans do not want to participate in rebuilding world relations they detest it.

Here is what we will be reading about tomorrow, "Once again President Obama showed weakness in front of the Indian leader. India has no respect for the US...blah..blah...blah..

14. Yea, and it would be like inviting the drunk uncle
to dinner - you know he will cause a scene and embarrass the whole crowd. Why bother. Frankly, they don't deserve a seat at any table.

15. Emily asks, "Why is the President having a steak dinner?"
"Eating beef isnt good for the planet. Instead of a steak dinner he should have a vegetable dinner. That's more green."

"Emily, the President is having a state dinner, not steak dinner".

Emily Latilla, "Oh, that's different. Never mind".

RIP Gilda
