1. Lots of members of that judiciary committee are GREAT at
cross examination! It
s not only the Dems either. Listen to Arlan Apector. Hehad Gonzo close to tears! I've watched allthese committeeguys andalmost all of them are REALLY GOOD at interogating. They did well today with Gonzo, wholooks to me like he never even went through law school!

2. Many are real lawyers
and Gonzo spoke like a kid who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Jeessh even Asskraft would have made a better showing. If it were a Punch and Judy Show it would have been funny, as it was it was pathetic beyond belief, but real.

3. Schummer was excellent. I often disagree with his politics but I really appreciated

his intelligence and intensity during the hearing today.

4. Exactly.
I loved the impromptu press conference he had afterwards, too. No pompous backdrops, just sitting around answering questions without lies or evasions.

5. I remember how tough a Senate race he was expected to have against
Alfonse D'Amato, and how happy I was when he whipped Al.

It was a REAL big night in New York.

Schumer proved today why we need him. Gonzales must have thought he could weasel his way through that hearing but once our Democrats took hold of the pace and framed the questions, it was clear we had the upper hand, and Schumer did us proud.

6. Yeah it's immensely satisfying
Not just Schumer, but they're all pretty much asking the hard questions. Feingold asked some tough questions as well. One senator even said maybe you're not the right person for the job at this time. He obviously isn't going to just roll over and resign, though.
