A fascinating bit of African American History

Today a friend and I wandered up to the holiday open house at the Old Stone House, one of my favorite places in the Kingdom. What's so fascinating about it? Well, aside from the fact that the structure itself is breathtaking and so is the site, it was built by Alexander Twilight, the first African-American college grad and the first African American legislator. But he was more than that. He was a minister and an educator and the guy had a phenomenal eye. Legend has it, that he built this large and amazing structure by himself.
