Anyone interested in starting a new grass roots Anti War movement?
I'll plant the first seed here. I had a very "late night idea" a week or so ago, but I'll admit that I don't have the time and/or the skills required to put this all in motion.

My thought was that we need a Bipartisan Anti War Group to work on ending this war. We hear members every day in the House and Senate referring to each other as "our friends on the other side of the aisle". Well, I think it's high time we got people together in the MIDDLE of the aisle and get something done.

I know there are many web developers/designers here, as well as reporters, teachers, etc, who are WAY smarter than I am, and who could help this movement. What I'll do is give you a domain name to start with. I registered www.bawg.org (bipartisan anti war group). If anyone is interested in doing something like this, please let me know. I'll even provide the hosting, which will include:
Plan Features
• 5 GB Space
• 250 GB Transfer
• 500 Email Accounts
• FREE! Software
• 10 MySQL Databases
• 50 Email Forwards
• Forums, Blogging, Photos
• Metropolis Hosting Community

Anyone interested?

PEACE!

Ghost

1. I think it's a great idea
and I might provide some website support if no one else signs up, but right now I'm building a site for my impeachment group, which is, by the way, bipartisan. We have former Republicans, Democrats and Greens. I admire the effort and later on when I've finished my site I'd like to help.

3. Thank you
Your impeachment groups sounds like what I had in mind too. We need to get everyone involved in this effort to end this war. My limited website building experience is with using just plain HTML and pre programmed scripts (examples: http://www.jmillerlawoffice.com , http://www.charliesbaitandtackle.com , http://www.midnitecallers.com ) Anything I could do just wouldn't do justice to the site.

2. I am interested ...
But, I'm also curious. I've been trying to think of a way to be effective in working against the war. I don't really know how to do that. There are a number of anti-war groups, some of them have done some good work - anti-war marches, etc. So far, everything's been pretty ineffective. I think the most effective anti-war "movement" in this country so far has been Cindy Sheehan. She definitely raised a lot of awareness.

Do you have any ideas on how to actually have an effect on the war?

4. I'm not really sure exactly how to go about it either. I just know it HAS to be done.
It's going to take getting congress critters involved so that actual discussion can go somewhere with it. I know there are members here who work on some campaigns or on the staff of some people with power. Maybe we could get a good candidate involved to use this as a platform for running. It's not going to be an easy fix.

Honestly, while I think marches and protests are good tools for us (the common people) it's going to take something more to end this war. It's going to take intelligent debate and decisive action on the part of the people in power, to change the minds of the other people of power who so far still support this war.

9. I like that...
that's what I'm talking about, but on a National scale... we NEED members from both sides of the aisle to meet in the middle and get some results.

That's one phrase my employees are used to hearing from me if I have to get on to them about something. As soon as they start sputtering excuses, I just cut them off and tell them "I don't want excuses, I want RESULTS!... they get the message quickly... so far.
