I'm very thankful my name isn't on one. And I hope the one to honor those who die in Afghanistan isn't as big as the one for Vietnam Vets.

1. They belong on the front lawn of the White House.
They own the wars when you come right down to it.

4. With replicas in the front yard of every US voter
We own the debt of war and the blood is on our hands.

2. We can start tearing down some of the "old" ones, now.

6. There's that great big cement pond
The "Reflecting Pool" or some such librul pantywaist appellation? Doesn't hardly have any names on it a-tall. Fill the pool, pave it over, and wa-la! room for more names etched in granite. Or marble. Or spelled out in hundred dollar bills.

This being a digital age and everything, maybe our next war memorial should feature a reading of each name while the deceased's picture comes up on a display kiosk. Changes every three seconds or so. How many minutes do you suppose the average person could stand to watch?

8. There is something similar to that
at the U. S. Navy Memorial in DC where a family could put a member's picture and career info in a computer and can be pulled up and viewed at the Memorial. Not necessarily a War Memorial but a nice touch.
