8. I had one of those! It was a great machine.
Of the three laptops I've been through, that was my favorite.

23. Mine has been good, except for a hard drive meltdown resulting from bad sectors.
I had to get it fixed on the cheap, but it seem to work fine at the moment.

Still dream of a Mac laptop, though. :)

6. I have this laptop PC and my beloved but obsolete Mac Powerbook
that can't run OS 10 or whatever it's called. All my graphics programs are on it and I can do swaps with an external drive. Damn, I'd almost gotten the hang of the Mac, too.

12. 4 desktop
Edited on Sat Dec-05-09 02:42 PM by juno jones
(One isn't working right now) and one laptop.

2 of them are mainly custom-built buisness/graphics computers (although I surf alot on mine), the one not running was graphics that had mostly become games and browser. One is the kid's (Acer). The Acer laptop just is. We use it to watch movies when the power fails. :)

15. Have 2, actually own 1.
The company I work for provides a desktop, the current one about 4-5 years old. I personally own a Panasonic Toughbook that I bought refurbished for under $350, a discontinued model that works just fine. Both systems run Windows XP Pro.

18. Two desktops and a laptop..
The desktops were both assembled from random parts, some bought, some scrounged, the laptop is an off brand that came from Walmart a few years ago and I inherited it because no one else in the family wanted it. Mostly I use the laptop when I do location photography for burning images to CD or DVD, the desktops do a little of everything from web surfing to a little CAD work to audio and image processing to running a high end planetarium program (Stellarium).

20. Not sure of the make.
My dh put it together with all kinds of parts. It's getting close to 5 or 6 years old and sounds like it's readying for take off when I start it up. Needless to say it's time for a new one.
We tried to salvage a fairly new, but very corrupt Acer (we got it from dh's company, but one of my kids wrecked it with a virus) but can't get windows 7 to run on it. So at the moment it's not working.
My daughter bought herself an Acer netbook and she loves it (and I get to use it sometimes). I'm saving up for an Acer laptop - the cheap kind - but it will still have about 4 times more RAM than I have right now.
But as of right now I only have 1. :)

30. 2 Dell Laptops. Both Inspiron - 1520 and I think a 1300 is the older one
I don't have the older one open so I don't know the model.

they both work like a charm. The older one has XP, 1520 has Vista. Never a single problem with either of them. Older one purchased in 2004 as a replacement for Dell desktop we had bought in 1998. 1520 purchased in 2006 I believe because at the time, both Mr. Hed and I were both in school and needed to have 2 computers for our schoolwork.
