Just thinking if Women's right to vote was trying to be passed by today's congress
I expect the republicans and many democrats would be against it as they are against health care for all like they have - they only want stuff for themselves and the less voters who they perceive as not like their votes - they would block women and people of color from voting - just a discussion after seeing a movie where a woman was fighting for woman's right to vote

3. NO I am not saying it was easy back then - but looking at all those
slick white men in their suits with their pink ties or the old white men saying BS - I don't see them as wanting any rights for anyone but themselves

Too bad today's liberals don't do state politics. They want a fast and easy federal fix, no matter how watered down it is.

5. thats not entirely true. there has been a lot of state level activism for gay rights
it just hasnt been highly successful
