Another Sign that Gore is Not Running
From the TPM Cafe. When Gore tells one of his most loyal fundraiser to go ahead and contribute to another candidate, I think it means he doesn't need the money.
She decided to donate to Barack Obama.

Here's another sign that suggests Al Gore may have decided to sit out the Presidential race: One of his longtime supporters has just given a campaign check to another Presidential candidate — apparently with the tacit approval of Gore himself.

The Boston Globe reports reports that Debby Butler, a key Gore backer from New Hampshire and a longtime activist in the state, has sent a check for $1,000 to Barack Obama. The kicker is that according to the Globe, Butler even got in touch with Gore's office and double-checked to see if he would be okay with her making donations to other candidates. The answer, obviously, was Yes.

1. This is not a sign
He's not ready to say he's running and if he had told his supporter not to give to Obama, it would have tipped his hand prematurely. I'm not giving up hope.

As far as the draft Gore movement is concerned, it's best for Gore if support for Hillary, Edwards and Obama is pretty evenly divided.

2. That's so sweet. I guess
Gore doesn't want to jump in the cesspool. He knows what the US corporatemediawhores like..a low iq like bush.

Gores knows if he ran it would all be about lies..the ones the pressbitches are repeating. Whoever our Dem candidate turns out to be will be excoriated in the press but will win anyway because the country is sick and tired of crooked repukes in spite of the media covering for them day after day after day.

3. I never did believe Gore was going to run again. Running for
President in this Country isa horrible task, and being President after the AH we've had for 6+ years is a job I wouldn't wish on anyone! Do you really think Gore doesn't know that too? All the disasters Shrub hasmade will take a real superstar to fix and it sure isn't going to happen inonly 4 years! I'm not even sure it canbe done in 8!

5. or...
Then again, there is always the possibility of not having a clear nominee at the DNC, and Gore comes out from the woodwork - unscathed from primary season - and becomes the party's clean nominee. Eh, wishful thinking.

7. Who leaked that story
to the Globe? I assume it was either Butler herself or the Obama campaign. Is it possible that this "loyal" Gore supporter is already working for Obama in New Hampshire?

8. Gore is running
I know a lot of the supporters of "other candidates" don't want it and so keep looking for reasons that he's not,
but I'm a pessimist by nature and even I can only interpret the signs as indicating that he is.
