Interesting Column On What Tiger Needs To Do.... LINK
Edited on Thu Dec-10-09 06:00 PM by Blackhatjack
I don't agree with everything proposed here, but it is a start back to respectability. Good read.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=reilly_rick&id=4727383

"Tiger Woods is the first person in history to run his car into a hydrant and set himself on fire.
His reputation is shredded. His once-perfect name has been dragged through more mud than a Nantucket clam digger's boots. A once-spotless life is now an episode of "Cops."

So what now?

First, Oprah Winfrey. "It has to be Oprah," says the king of Las Vegas publicity men, Dave Kirvin. "If you did a poll on who's most disgusted by this whole mess, it would be women. To win over those women, you need to win over Oprah. You win over Oprah, you win over America."

Once he's on Oprah's couch, he says this: "To my wife, to my kids, to my family, to my friends, to my fans, I am so sorry. You believed in me. You looked up to me. You thought I was different, and I let you down. I'm ashamed of myself. My mom is ashamed of me. I'm sure my dad would be ashamed of me. I'm an idiot." Then he has to go full Tebow: "From this day forward, you will never see somebody work harder, 24 hours a day, to win back your trust."

SKIP

"It has to be next week and no later, because every day the British tabloids have him sleeping with everybody but the Page 3 girl. "The sooner he makes his public act of contrition, the sooner he takes the oxygen out of the story," Kirvin says."

1. One thing not taken into consideration.
Does his wife want him?

11. And does he really want her?
An affair with multiple women is vastly different from an affair with one.

If what others say that she knew he played the field as much as that before the marriage then she was a fool for agreeing to marry him.

3. He promised her he would change his ways when they got married
and he didn't change one bit. It doesn't appear that he cares about her as much as he cares about his image. He came clean because he got caught, not because he had a pang of conscience. If she trusts him again, she is being foolish.

5. He Did?? Were you listening in on a hidden microphone? LOL
If there is one thing we can be sure of it is that no one knows exactly what goes on inside any marriage except the parties thereto.

It is OK to supposed what the parties are thinking, or ascribe motives to the actions we observe, but the truth is we don't know --and if she chooses to trust him again, that is her choice.

Not every woman who decided to stay with a spouse that cheated is a fool.

9. At least two of her friends have been interviewed
and they disclosed that Elin knew about Tigers social life when she married him and told him it would have to change.

12. Pardon me if I don't wager any $$ on what 'two of her friends' have to say about what Elin knew...
... or what she told Tiger about changes he would have to make.

IF, and that is a big if, Elin knew about other women in Tiger's life and she married him anyway thinking she could change him, then that puts her in a different light --she decided to take the plunge anyway. It was her choice.

But I wouldn't put much stock in 'two friends' really knowing what was going on.

4. They evidently know much about Tiger. Oprah??? I think not..
No way will he publicly flail himself. It either goes away or it doesn't but there will be no public apology from Tiger, I'm pretty sure. His thinking is "It's none of their damned business."...End of story.

7. I don't imagine he's in any shape to appear in public
It would be a bold move for someone as young as he is, but he may just be considering rolling up the proverbial sidewalk, cashing in on the remaining promotion deals until they inevitably peter out, paying off his wife, and just living like a hermit for the next sixty years. If he downsizes his lifestyle and prioritizes his assets he could surely live off of what will be left after Elin takes her major chunk.
