Heh. Coincidence? Judgement at Nuremberg now on TCM.
Great film.

Would like to see a repeat of the event before I die. With you-know-which-thugs on trial.

1. You, me, and almost the rest of the entire planet. It's only those that should
be in the dock with them or their pathetically misguided and ignorant supporters that don't.

2. I'd like to see an entire Judgment at Nuremberg Channel (JNC?)
Sort of like there seems to be a Godfather Channel, a Hitler Channel and a Rocky Channel. Then maybe for a change of pace, run A Face in the Crowd every now and then, for a little insight on President Lonesome Rhodes.

4. Thanks. I thinks it's very timely to reflect on the event.
So many parallels to what has been happening the last 6 years.

6. Yes.
The coincidence I was referring to was the airing of the film today.

I agree with you completely.

7. Pre-emptive War in Iraq and the Principles of Nuremberg
Launching a war of agression is a crime and no political or ecomonic situation can justify it.

8. Not necessarily a "coincidence" -- in timing, at least:

Yom HaShoah — Holocaust Remembrance day
Main article: Yom HaShoah
Yom HaShoah (יום הזכרון לשואה ולגבורה‎) — 27 Nisan
Yom HaShoah is also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day, and takes place on the 27th day of Nisan.

9. It's too late to edit my OP.
If I had known about Yom HaShoah, I would have worded it differently.

Thank you.

10. No worries! Thanks for reading my post, and thanks for the heads up
on Judgment At Nuremburg being on!

I've never actually watched it, believe it or not, and I'm recording it so I can watch it as often as needed.

11. It's a great film.
I saw it a long time ago, but I don't remember it being so powerful.

The acting is magnificent.

13. I'm quite sensitive to the suffering of others,
and can only watch something like this a bit at a time. That's why I'm recording. The grief engulfs me.

Since this thread hasn't been overwhelmed by a lot of responses, and the usual phalanx of smartasses, I thought of something, besides the Jewish holiday, that I would like to share with you that pertains to this movie. I hope you will find it interesting and helpful, and it also links to the shooting tragedy.

A book which is old, but very powerful, is Alice Miller's "For Your Own Good". She goes into the psyche of the German culture, and how it was possible for Hitler to get to power and do what he did.

As I said, it's a very powerful book, and well worth the read. Especially after watching this powerful film.

Thanks again for your heads up on this! It's certainly something for all of us to be pondering.....

Peace....
