"An undeclared world war for oil is already under way. "
This quote is from Roger Ebert, in reviewing the new doc, "Collapse".

I recommend the doc, btw. It explains a whole lot about the geo-politics of our presence in the the Middle East and the 'Stans.

4. it still defies logic, reason and common sense that we are not putting
as much effort into developing clean, renewable energy-like the massive solar farm Arizona wanted so badly for the jobs it would provide- as we do into war. But we all know the reason for our self destructive insanity; follow the money.

7. Yep. War is even more profitable than oil. War FOR Oil = $$$ squared
They get to make money on both fronts at once this way.

5. old news...watch The Prize on Google Video (seven parts)
The Prize is all you need. There has been a parallel war for oil for the past 100+ years, including periods where the industry warned of resource depletion especially when it served their interest to raise prices. It's nothing new except it has spawned parallel governments in the personhoods of oil companies.

8. No. Daniel Yergin's cornucopian oil shilling is old news.
And he's not willing to put his http://www.energybulletin.net/node/50019">money where his mouth is.

9. the documentary isn't all yergin's nonsense. it has very little of him actually
there are other people that talk about the oil industry and the stories about the figures than yergin, who I agree, is a particular type of pro-western oil company shill.
