NUCLEAR OPTION!!!!!!!!!11111
Harry the Milquetoast needs to have a giant testicular fortitude transplant to use this method to shove the insurance assholes up their own asses! Lieberman can go suck a tailpipe of a H2.

3. The reality is that if the filibuster is killed, we only need 50 Senators to vote yes
for a health care bill. (Just add Biden and stir.) The reality is that the 60 vote rule has hamstrung majority rule in this country for far too many years, and has succeeded in
preventing any substantive change for the better. Hanging on to the status quo is death for a living, breathing nation. I'd like to remind my friends and fellow Democrats who fear that the Republicans will misuse a simple majority if and when they take control, that that is one of the risks we take in a democracy. Let the majority rule, And if enough voters don't like the results, throw the bastards out.

6. I'm for it (getting rid of cloture), but let us all be very clear here: do you know how many shitty
bills Bush & Co. would have been able to shove down the country's throat when the Republicans controlled the Senate? Quite a few.

Like I said, I'm for getting rid of cloture, but we'll have no right to complain when (and it will only be a matter of time until "when" arrives: that's also how it works in a democracy) the Republicans have the White House and the Senate again and they simply invoke "majority rules" arguments to pass shitty bills.

7. If Democrats act with some courage and decisiveness they have a good chance
of maintaining control. If they don't they lose. Period. That is also how it works in a Democracy.

4. As the saying goes, if it's worth doing, it's worth forcing it down their throats.

5. It's the new clear option that must be embraced.
At least if Reid wants to preserve the Dem majority.

8. This could seriously backfire...
Do any of you even consider the ramifications of doing away with the filibuster?

I want reform as well, however as another poster mentioned the day will come when the Repug's take control again...

If you are going to make this bed you better be prepared to sleep in it when the Repug's regain a majority, I for one think this is a bad idea...

9. The Repugs are going to be a permanent minority
if Nuclear Option is invoked immediately and Americans sees that the bills are being passed to BETTER them, not the fat cat corporations - then there is no longer a point for corporations to continue to support either party and just simply focus on making money for their DAMN self, and the Americans are happy, and will continue to lean left to EVEN better the needs.

Without filibusters, we could likely see:

- A single payer plan that we've been begging for YEARS
- A complete termination of MIC complex and their contractors are jailed/bankrupt/dead
- Better infrastructure
- Improved education systems, and plans/funding to make college free, instead of charging people through the nose for tuition
- Transportations improved, high speed rail
- Science and health studies are fully funded. Cancer cures instead of treating the symptoms would make it a reality
- Fund jobs growth and fully fund unions
- Religious freedom continues (what a shocker!)
- Gun nuts can still hold on to their guns!
- Marijuana is finally legal and used for all purposes.

These are the possibilities if filibuster goes away, and the American people realizes that gun, gays and Gods are not the #1 priority of their lives, and that people can live in harmony instead of being so deeply divided.
