I have reported this. If you have a Facebook membership, please report this awful site. I can not believe this kind of vitriol is allowed to stand on Facebook.

3. Thank you, dear. I can't understand how this stuff is allowed to even be posted.
And if I saw something equal in regards to Bush or any of his cabal, I'd report that, as I know you would, too. This kind of nonsense has to stop.

I reported a picture the other day that had a cartoon of Sarah Palin with a gun to her head. It isn't OK regardless of who it is. If we learn anything from the way Republicans are acting lately its that you shouldn't hate like this.

However, for future info, it is also important that it be mentioned that it's advocating violence on Hillary, NOT as SoS, but as a former first lady.

As a former first lady, Hillary is a recipient of Secret Service protection, and as such, a threat is non-protected speech. As SoS, she wouldn't be receiving the SS protection otherwise AFAIK.

Edited to add: forget what I said--the SoS is also entitled to SS protection.

14. There are a couple of foreign embassies in DC that get SS protection too.
Through some special deal. Turkey is one of them. I don't know why DSS at State doesn't cover that. It's weird. You always see SS buzzing up and down Mass Ave.

FWIW, there is another group at Facebook which was to keep HC from getting elected as president (obviously before the election), and they had 773,000 members.

18. I'm not particularly fond of the characterization that I desperately search for ways to be offended.
That suggestion comes across as condescending, even if that was not the intent. The reporting was directly to Facebook.

I wanted to add Hillary Clinton to my Facebook interests. I found this, which I found to be particularly offensive because it suggested beheading her. Yes, only three dorky kids are members, but it is still vile. Why let it gather more members?

I'm not sure how clicking the report button, selecting "offensive content" and writing "Advocating violence against a public official" is somehow taking away valuable time from advancing agendas. I didn't plan on doing some serious advocacy work at 8:30 PM on a Monday night. I was just messing around on my laptop, watching a movie and drinking some green tea when I saw that three dorks want to behead Hillary Clinton.

And in regards to the two links, if I belonged to those websites, I would have reported them to the webmaster/owner/etc. as inappropriate.

21. Whatever you do, don't mention the regular suggestions on DU for beheadings of various people for
various reasons.
According to some on this board,

Beheading a Secretary of State = bad

Beheading a head of a corporation = not so bad at all, really

27. Please alert. The Moderators do not read each thread and post on DU.
There are thousands each day. It is impossible. Therefore, we have an alert system in place. If you feel something is breaking the DU rules, please alert. Once the alert is visible in the Mod Forum, we then, as a group, come to consensus as to whether the post in question breaks a DU rule and take action as necessary. Expecting us to read each post in each thread is unrealistic. I can't stress enough the importance of alerting.

35. I'm well aware of the volume of posts put up each day on this board.
I also understand the the moderators have a daunting task of policing the activities of the tens of thousands of regular posters on DU.

But quite frankly, it takes an awful lot for me to alert on a thread or post. I've alerted on repeated and blatantly insulting, abusive and belligerent posters but only after it is clear to me that a pattern has emerged with a particular individual and that pattern represents something harmful or belittling of the membership as a whole.

However, there is a large block of people on this board that have made it very clear, over and over again that they would like nothing better than to see gallows set up at the corner of Wall and Broad streets and anyone appearing in the neighborhood wearing a suit and tie be strung up tout de suite.

Alerting on scores of DU'rs isn't really my style. I'm not a moderator or the message board police. I'll stick with alerting on the ones that insult large blocks of their fellow posters.

Go ahead and find them yourself.

On edit to say...ahhh...what the hell.

It was too damned easy. All it took was 30 seconds in the "Economy" forum to find an entire thread basically dedicated to the idea.

Hint: It is a thread wherein the OP links an article published on 12/8 about an incident in China that happened 4 years ago.

Go have a look in the Economy forum.

There's no "wild assertion" by any means. It happens almost every day, for fucks sake.

Look at the next few threads you see that talk about the Banking industry or any major corporation.

Look at the daily "Stock Market Watch" thread
Look in the "Latest Breaking News" forum at any thread having to do with business malfeasance.
Look at any thread in GD about the Banking industry, the Financial industry or capitalism in general.

It won't take you long to find exactly what I'm talking about.

You've been a member of this board since 2001 and you have over 33,000 posts. Unless the majority of those have been "LOL's" in the Lounge and you spend all your time there, or you only read puppy and kitty threads, you KNOW I'm right.

If you haven't seen what I'm talking about, you haven't been paying attention.

30. I'll reply in case someone else doesn't know.
Along the bottom of each post, there is a link on the far left side which says "alert." When you click it, you will be redirected to a page that has a space to write the reason for the alert.

We really encourage everyone to use the alert system, as that is the only way to be sure the Moderators see the post in question.
