We have pacemakers, prosthetics, artificial hearts, hips, & knees. We have steel plates for bone injuries, such as skull fractures. We have artificial heart valves, glass eyes, hearing aids, ventilators, and dialysis.
We have Blue Tooth, cell phones, and chips implanted with our info embedded under the skin (in some jurisdictions).
One application I see that could be implemented right now is a GPS locator chip in pets. They already use chips to identify pets. It wouldn't take much of a stretch of the imagination to use GPS chips to find them if they are lost, or incorporate it into the chips currently being used. Alzheimer's patients with a tendency to roam could have the same thing, if ethics allows. I'm not sure what moral arguments could be made against it. I do know it would save their lives in winter when they are outside in freezing temperatures.
Singularity is well under way. Personally, I see it as a good thing overall. There could be malfunctions and problems, but it could be used for good.
