Howard Dean: "We Didn't Elect Democrats To Pass Crap."
<snip>

Regardless of the nasty personal remarks about him that have been emanating from the White House, Dean wanted to emphasize that he still supports the president. He dismissed any talk of another run for president. "I plan to support President Obama vigorously in 2012. I think he's done a terrific job on things like the environment and restoring America's name in the rest of the world," he said. "I remember what it was like to have George Bush as president and I'm not on a mission to destroy the Democratic Party, having rebuilt it. But we didn't elect Democrats to pass crap. We elected Democrats to make a difference"

47. This Bill is easy to kill! Let's do that
by calling each of our senators and complaining about it. If we call them and complain that it's worthless and it should not be passed, and the Right Wing folks are also calling the same senators complaining about different reasons, they will get the message that no one likes this piece of refuse and that it won't pass. The R's have NO - ZERO - NADA senators voting for it.

How many times have we seen the usual corporate sellouts on the R side team with Dem sellouts and form a block that can't be stopped? This is NOT the case here. If we call and write and flood the switchboards of the senate, and the Right Wing is doing that too (how odd that they don't like this bill either), it can be stopped. Let's use them to get our way for change.

I'm doing that with Boxer and Feinstein - let's make it a 50 state campaign.

If we do this, we can not just be proud of Dr. Dean, but he will be proud of us too!

Yes we CAN! (Stop this piece of crap)

Go Dean!...It's about time he received credit PUBLICLY, for what he's done for the PARTY...Even if he claims it himself -- It's TRUE.

I do believe he's done more for the party than Obama, thus far.

51. and both roles are valuable
I doubt that any democrat in office minds that Dean speaks his mind, as those who have been elected often don't feel free to. Maybe I should be more cynical, though...

55. I think you are correct than those in office are not free to speak
their minds.

But I think the condemnation of Dean by the Obama Administration and John Kerry indicates that many who have a stake in the status quo do mind that Dean is speaking out.

Sometimes a cynic is just a skeptic who has been keeping good notes.

52. Yes, MLK might be able to confirm how easy it is make bold proclamations when you don't have to rule
And Howard Dean was elected as chairman of the Democratic National Committee and, during his tenure, developed a successful strategy to return Democrats to the majority in the House and Senate. I'd say he's earned a right to an opinion.

56. Yeah! It's not like he was ever a State Rep or a Lieutenant Gov or elected as Gov 5 times
but he didn't do much except pass the "Dr. Dynasaur" program which ensures near-universal health coverage for children and pregnant women in Vermont. I mean, it's not like the uninsured rate in Vermont dropped from 12.7% to 9.6% under his watch or anything...oh wait, it sorta did. I guess it's NOT hard to rule as a Democrat after all. You just have to WANT to rule as a Democrat. Funny how that works, isn't it?

It's too bad he sucked so bad when he led the DNC though. With his leadership, we lost both the House and the Senate. Or not. Damn that Howard Dean. Making bold proclamations while never accomplishing a single thing.

He knows good and well that if this doesn't pass, it will not come up again until 2011 MAYBE. And then if seats are lost in 2012, it will definitely not pass as public option or anything even close to what it is now. How many votes does Howard Dean have in the senate? Oh that's right... none.
