Will The Real Barack Obama Please Stand Up ?
by Badabing

Candidate Obama said it was "time to turn the page," and that during the election he spoke loudly and clearly towards the hearts, minds and souls of the people in our country that he called, "Main Street."

It is easy to forget those 'words' that he spoke to us, and now I cannot help but wonder if President Obama ever meant anything he promised or said in the hundreds if not thousands of speeches he gave to the record breaking crowds of disenfranchised Americans; the middle class who have lost their jobs, the elderly who had lost their retirements and pensions to Wall Street, the poverty stricken and the young voters that he rallied (many for the first time) with promises that stated, 'that this election was not about him, but it was 'our moment, our time'. This is the Candidate and President elect that I remember: ....

1. I liked the old Obama better.
I liked the Obama who used this ad against Hillary:

I liked the Obama who, earlier this year, said this:

President Obama said: Any plan I sign must include an insurance exchange: a one-stop shopping marketplace where you can compare the benefits, cost and track records of a variety of plans - including a public option to increase competition and keep insurance companies honest - and choose what's best for your family.

This new Obama is not the person for whom I voted.

Kill the bill.

Forcing people to buy insurance is no more the answer to a failed health care system than forcing people to buy houses is the solution to homelessness.

4. A columnist today uses the term "penultimate politician."

I'm not up to defending the columnist, but those words ring very true, alas.

6. Very Clintonian. I had real hope. It hurts to have those hopes dashed.
At the moment, I am in pure survival mode. This "health insurance reform" bill will have a dramatic and direct effect on me. I have given up hope that the Federal Government can do anything good for me, at this stage. At this point, I am simply trying to prevent the Federal Government from doing something that will be very bad for me.

And passage of this "health insurance reform" bill will be very bad for me, indeed.

Kill the bill.

9. Who's the ultimate politician then?
Penultimate means next to last so there must be someone even politicianianer.

or to candidate Hillary Clinton. Edward's maybe not so much - but do you really wish John Edward's was president?

8. Yes. Obama and Clinton were nearly identical on policy. So, image became everything. nt

5. Trick question
There is no "real Barack Obama." First, last and always -- a marketing image. Nothing more.

15. I don't think Obama intentionally mislead anyone.
He stepped onto a court where he found out that he gets to make very few rules.
