"All we need is one Senator to be a profile in courage..."
This was the wish of the Republicans on the floor of the Senate yesterday. All they need is for Joe Lieberman or Ben Nelson to agree with them and they will kill the bill. Some here may think that is a good thing. There is no guarantee that the bill would ever come back before Congress. It is now or never.

It is a gamble. From all that has been printed and said about the healthcare legislation, it is badly lacking in common sense and benefits for average Americans. It is a gamble because it will have to be fixed. If it is not fixed, it may be worse than nothing at all, according to the majority of folks following this issue.

But the Republicans, always successful before in getting moderate Democrats to support them, are having difficulty this time around. They are showing their desperation. One Senator even suggested that people pray that one Democratic Senator not be able to make it to the floor for the 60th vote. But, Senator Byrd came rolling in, in his wheelchair, to standing applause. And the Republicans are still looking for their "profile in courage".

2. How about one or two REPUBLICANS being 'profiles in courage'...
and choosing their country over their party on the issue?

Probably safest not to hold one's breath on that.

5. Recall 2000 when not one senator stood up to the fraud election of 2000?
The House Black Caucus went to the senate and begged them to join in questioning the results of the 2000 election that was stolen by the Supreme Joke. If just ONE senator had stood with this group, we could have had an adult as president rather than the drunken idiot. The crooked U.S. Senate won't stand up for what's right. They stand for what's wrong.
