2. Droopy Dog is done with electoral politics, he's not running in 2012
Even if he hadn't obstructed health care, he would've almost certainly had a serious challenger from the left, not an unknown like Ned Lamont. But now that he's obstructed health care he's made himself unelectable.
7. He got there with a significant number of Democrats voting for him
And they voted for him on the premise that he voted Democratic 90% of the time and was a Democrat on every single issue except for the war. Furthermore he painted Ned Lamont as an opportunist newcomer. Lieberman will have serious opposition from the left this time. And he can no longer make the case that he is a Democrat for the most part. If he were serious about running again he would've not only not obstructed health care reform, he would've been a passionate supporter of it.
11. and that is why you will see some Dems campaigning for him
and he keeping his Homeland Security Chair. Why? Because Holy Joe will threaten to run as a Republican unless his demands are made. The Democratic Establishment will appease Lieberman and call it being pragmatic.
I am ignorant of how chairs are assigned, but heavens, his behavior warrants response NOW. He thinks he is the decider and he is mouthing off in a most dangerous manner re foreign policy now. I hope Hillary pays a visit and cleans his clock on that alone.
