Any DNN Pros here that can answer some Qs?
I am trying to learn DNN or dotnetnuke quickly. At first it looked fairly straight forward. But the more I look at it - I am realizing I need to find another source other than the manual (which I have read about 100 pages of the 300+) that comes with the setup.

Can anyone recommend a book or video or online source that would lead me through creating a basic website. I am a hands on learner and not formally trained in IT.

Thanks ahead of time for whatever advice you can give me.

(I orig posted this earlier in Comp IT forum but thought I would get more views here - sorry for the dupe!)

2. I have no idea what you are talking about, but maybe you'd have better luck in the computer forum???
Here's a kick for your request, anyway...

3. Thanks
I did post there but thought the GD would reach more eyeballs.

DNN is a new way to create websites - new enough that there doesn't appear to be scads of info on how to start.

4. Might I suggest that you post over at the www.dotnetnuke.com forums...
... if you haven't done so already.

If no one can help you over there, [insert name of supreme being] help you.

6. I know that site
Have been to the local barnes & noble and checked out my entire library system of about 10 libraries - no books to be found. Found a website that offers tutorial videos for a fee but those seem to be dated from 2004.

I thought (insert name of supreme being) posted here? :7

9. I just thought that the people that developed it should be able to help you.
If they can't help you, that might be a problem - for you and for them.

jesuschrist used to post here, but I don't know about any of the rest of 'em.

10. I have that manual
but it was written from a programming point of view rather than creative. Am looking for something that would lead me through a sample of building a website... There are some books coming out later this year that may help. Think its odd there aren't more... unless it really is that new. I don't know.

I heard that JC was here for about three years before he got TSed. :7

Edited to add anchor to first link

I'm talking about the DotNetNuke Forums at the developers' website. You are much more likely to find people that are able to answer your questions over there than here at DU.

DotNetNuke For Dummies is coming out next week, that is probably going to be about as non-programming oriented as you are likely to encounter. I find the '...for Dummies' series to be useful for quick introductions to a topic - usually enough to get me started working with something.

Good luck!

jesuschrist only made it up to 50 or 60 posts, but rest assured that he is still posting here under a different username.
